I also got this from the last deal. Upgraded to 64GB and put 4TB SSD in it. My first Windows PC after years of Apple and really happy with it. Screen is bright and sharp. Touchpad works perfectly. Using this to for photo/video editing, 3D rendering and photogrammetry. Entry level LLM and GenAI. Also picked up a bunch of games in recent steam sale which run smooth at high settings. Really surprised how happy I am with it coming from Mac. One thing to note, HW upgrade was a bit less straightforward than I thought. I think there are like 14 screws you need to remove, some with glued in rubber grommets. Need to make sure you get the right speed DDR5 ram (I got the crucial kit Crucial RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR5 4800MT/s CL40 Laptop Memory CT2K32G48C40S5 https://a.co/d/1DDjGnb). After you insert the ram and first turn it on, make sure it's attached to power and wait about 1min for it to post. The screen will remain black and keyboard will light up, but no other sign of life. I first thought I had bricked it or I had faulty RAM, but it just does some sort of extended check without any feedback on the screen. Once it goes through that, it boots fine and subsequent boots are fast. I had to google in some deep Reddit threads to get to that info, and was thinking about returning it. Now it screams with the RAM maxed out.
Another thing to note is that I couldn't immediately get my Linux distributions to boot, like Debian 12. It crashed hard, There is an Asus Linux community page (https://asus-linux.org/wiki/fedora-guide/) and they recommend Fedora for this, which I don't prefer but will try. There is additional info on that page about how to install NVIDIA drivers and a special kernel. Not as straightforward as I had hoped to dual boot. Debian works flawlessly on all my other hardware, no customization or post install config needed. Again, this is my first gaming PC after many years of Mac, so this may be a more universal experience for high end hardware.

I got this during the last sale as an open box.
When I got it, even if it was an open-box excellent condition, it had three four scuffs/scratches on the laptop. This really scared me until I started to play around a bit on this laptop. So far, the laptop runs fine. It feels very "premium" for the price you pay.

This laptop is very well balanced. It is capable of doing gaming, and for work/school, it is very portable due to its light weight. It feels like a quality product.

I am assuming that this laptop has several competitors, from Lenovo Legion, Alienware, and potentially Razer. I personally think that this laptop is the ultimate choice, as it is very well built. Unlike it's previous year version, I believe the newer version is capable of replacing its original ram, which makes this even more customizable. This laptop shows the true versatility that a portable gaming laptop should have.

Design is another important factor for laptops. I believe this laptop is a strong contender for the TOP3 place solely by design as well. When it comes to design, there are so many different views that convinces the buyer or not. I am personally a huge fan of Razer, so I think Razer design is the best, but it is a very close choice, and this laptop is indeed very, very pretty; it looks prettier irl. I think Alienware designs are too childish, but a lot of people prefer those characteristics in design so I respect it.

Personally, if you are willing to jeopardize yourself, take the open-box deal (if any are available). They have extended return period due to holiday season. If anything comes, simply return it. I think this is the best laptop at around 1.5k price range.

Solid deal, M16 is probably my favorite model, followed by the G14.

Asus is going to solid aluminum frames on some models next year though, so that's something to consider, also Thunderbolt 5 is expected next year if you plan on using a dock, which should fix all of thunderbolts past problems with gaming laptops.

own this from the last sale. solid sleek laptop that is very portable and bought multiple laptops only to return the other ones. sweet matte display with 240hz and great system performance.

cons - fans get really loud in turbo mode and not sure if this is my system but when it fans hard - it emits a strong burn smell - so longevity maybe an issue. sometimes miss the numpad. also pretty good speakers. debating between this and the msi vector even though that has a much much worse screen

Slim 7's 3K screen resolutioin is not ideal for gaming but more for productivity work & consume more battery.
I prefer no numpad keyboard layout of M16 but the alluminium frame of Slim 7's keyboard deck feel more premium to me.
Typing this on an M16 Peace

ya man, I always put it in Silent mode, decent enough performance. I wish they went with Ryzen 9 7940HS with USB4 support. Intel 13900H is definitely not my favorite for a slim gaming laptop.

I got the open box excellent from BB for $1250 approximately and it was actually good, ended up keeping it. I had also got the legion 5i from micro center and compared the performance. Legion pro beats this laptop. It had better ram speeds and better ssd. But portability matters to me so chose the ASUS. And the screen is just 😍

I have this from the last deal. Specs for this configuration looks comparable with more RAM in Dell G16 and $50 cheaper. Any input on which one is a better and a slicker deal? TIA

Picked this up during the summer sale, ended up keeping it. 2 Upgradeable RAM slots (64GB MAX) and 2 m.2 slots. I maxed my ram and put a 980 2tb in the extra empty slot. It's the perfect mobile
photogrammetry processing machine for me, would recommend.

This would run circles around the Dell G16, in terms of display, cooling, build quality, weight, and more.
That being said, G16 is no slouch either is actually a very decent deal esp. if you can combine the 10% off via new sign up and AMEX offer. That would make it around $200-$300 cheaper than this M16. If you want to save that money, go with G16.
If you don't mind spending more, this M16 is a no brainer.
