Certainly a 16" MBP is going to be cooler than a 14", simply by virtue of the increased chassis area to circulate and expel air. Commensurately, a 14" will throttle before a 16" does--but I've never read anything that suggests that translates into legitimate "problems" with heat. Every laptop eventually throttles. It's part of the spec.

The 14" has no heating issues; don't suggest otherwise unless you have specific evidence and you're an owner.
Have you see any 14 m3 max on sale?
You can easily spend the same or more for a Dell. This is a much better laptop in every way.

Because they want people to buy the pro version... And upgrade ram and storage and CPU until they end up with a M3 Max 16 core 64 Gb like me.

Was this at Best Buy? The silvers seem especially discounted, but I've never seen the space black get that low—unfortunately. And unfortunately I am that superficial.
The max version does not throttle unless you start putting it under some really heavy continuous artificial load (the type that Max Tech will pick and choose). Heck, the fans don't even turn on for quite a while after some heavy cpu/gpu intensive work.
Or you see a lot of sales since Apple is pushing this new model and MacBook laptop sales are down due totaling the economy. Alternately the M1 Pro is great and the m2 pro is 15% better than an M1 Pro and this m3 pro is really only a good upgrade from Intel Mac.
Best bang for the buck is a m1 air
Second best is M1 Pro for developers. A M1 Max, M1 Pro can too also too albeit slower. It can handle LLm with 7B parameters so it's hard to justify upgrading from m1 to m3.
If you get paid to create content then I would get a M1 Max and upgrade to the m3 once
The m6 is out. However if you have more than 300k subscribers you can write off an m3 max, so spend your money however you want.
What's the normal workflow which would cause the throttling? Curious as to what caused your throttling?
