I suspect because 18 TB had been $200 and no one can unsee that.

I put a smaller HD in it and used it to store my porn. Bye bye DVDs!

Just want 8TB for $100 again, kicking myself for skipping that last time.

These helium drives won't work in a decade. I can still power up 500gb drives from 10+ years ago because they are air.

This is not a good deal, everyone always falling for these expensive old spinning disk "sales". This is $14/TB before taxes, the deal to beat is the $200 18TB deal, until we see that pricing again these "deals" for more than $12/TB are a joke and you all just enable these perpetual high prices with stupid profit margins on old technology. Vote this crap down and stop buying it.

3 months ago $14/tb was a great deal even for 14-18 TB. One single anomalous deal has completely warped all our views.

For the shuckers, there still is no definitive method to determine if they need the 3.3v mod or not without plugging it in so save yourself the headaches and cover or remove the 3rd pin from the left before installing. Takes like 2 minutes.

So if in fact that was a deal people could grab (not just a select few doorbuster lucky people) then yeah another $80 for just 2 more TB, puts a real bad taste in our collective mouths

No, perpetually inflated prices (even prior to Covid) on extremely old technology has warped all our views. The only deal approaching reasonably priced for the tech you're getting is the $200 for the 18TB drive. Jfc people just bend over for these companies and don't think.
