Ummm...to watch TV? I'm sure I'm not alone in having Apple TV 4K boxes attached to all my TV's and couldn't care less about the apps and "processing" built in. I need a TV that displays a great picture. Period.
The one at Costco is more recent model with faster processor, 120hz, etc. Got it for 900 in December.
specs say 60 Hz refresh rate for this TV.

You know many people don't have a Costco membership, right?
Thats the point, they should. What you save in a year on multiple purchases pays for their cheapest membership level. The same people that complain about Costco, BJs, and Sam's Club memberships usually have Amazon prime, some streaming subscription, and at least a few mobile apps per month with usage fees. It's all about priorities people!
You'll want a TV with HDMI 2.1 ports, 120hz refresh, and low input lag. If you're looking for an 85, the Sony X90L or Hisense U8K are the best mid range options. Both are under $2K.
Thanks for the info! I have an older (10 years old??) 80 inch Sharp Aquos now, but it sucks power like crazy. So we're looking for something else to replace it, and add an XBox. Definitely want to stick with 80 inches or above. Sadly, you just get spoiled at this size and everything else seems tiny.
iwheela
Good tv for just casual watching from the living room or kitchen? Occasional Nintendo Switch gaming? Not looking for a tv that will wow me or meant for a home theater.
where the hell do people find the space for something that big
You'll be surprised, lol
We just got rid of our 15-foot natural Xmas tree, and it took hours to take it down just as it took hours to put it up.
I just installed a 120 inch 4k laser UST projector downstairs and would love a 120 inch TV in the living room. We already have an 85" TV in the family room.
What is the benefit of 120Hz on a TV? Most TV's that I've seen with high refresh rates have that funny look to them when watching shows or movies (what they call the "soap opera effect"). Is 120Hz just for sports?
You can still take advantage of that plan if you bought it before August/September last year when they eliminated that benefit as part of the plan. You can get free setup/mounting until your current 1 year plan runs out. I bought mine in July when I purchased an 85" Hisense. I can still get free setup/mounting up until this July.
I didn't know they got rid of the tv mounting. Over bestbuy, predict they will be gone in 10 years.
