Tip: If you buy from Best Buy- add the plus membership to your order for $50. It'll extend your return period from 15 days to 60 for peace of mind in case the U8K comes back on sale or if you decide you just don't like it. You can cancel the membership within 60 days of purchasing it for a full refund.

someone posted a side-by-side comparison on reddit. He ended up keeping the Hisense over the TCL.

Would Geek Squad also install the cable management system? Like adding a power bridge or bringing cables down through the drywall?

Ehhhhhhh. I don't think I would have trusted the people who mounted my TV to do that if they offered it. I did it all myself in advance.

Geek Squad delivered and mounted my Hisense 100" yesterday. Overall, three super nice people with pretty good knowledge of what they were doing. Typical problem of "they know more than the customer" attitude, which I don't like...but I get it considering they deal with the public and probably do know more than many people. I did allow the one guy to convince me to hang it slightly higher than I originally wanted, and I shouldn't have listened. It's now 38" from the floor which makes the top of the TV rather high when you are sitting on a couch. I might have three friends come over and help me lower it (I've done plenty of TV mounting myself).

To note also - double and triple check these guys before they start drilling holes. He missed the stud TWICE and then said "I'm not destroying your wall" and I replied "that's exactly what you are doing actually". We laughed a little, because I realize it's just some spackled and paint so no huge deal. I could have easily made a similar error. I did have to adjust the manual leveling on the mount after they left, because it wasn't perfectly level. Thankfully I bought a mount that allows for that with two screws on the back.

Overall, I'm super happy with it. It's a spectacle honestly. The picture, since it's massive, isn't as crisp as my 75" Sony it replaced but I knew that going in (my 75" wasn't as crisp as the 55" Samsung that it replaced either). It's probably overkill in my small living room, but my OCD says I want the biggest TV possible and I think I finally have it :-P

If you're worried about picture quality, don't be unless you're used to OLEDs. Coming from a pretty high end 75" Sony that is about 7 years old - this TV looks really fantastic.

Just snagged a HIsense this morning in the central TX. I guess you guys were right earlier as soon as I bought mine they became unavailable again.

I'm double checking, I could read through all the pages, or call best buy, but maybe your experience is a quicker answer....you just supplied the tv mount and the Geek Squad did all the rest, including mounting the mount to the wall?

Can anyone comment on how good or bad the OTA reception is? I use OTA to watch local channels and they look great on my 1080p tv, very bad on my cheap Samsung 4K tv

Yep! I had a mount that I bought from Amazon. They confirmed that it met the requirements for weight and size, and had no issues with using it. They also brought a mount but said it was only if the customer doesn't have one or has one that won't work.

They do all the moving, measuring, drilling, mounting, etc. They were even going to hookup all my wires and calibrate it but I told them I'd do that

I have an installation scheduled today for the Hisense U76N, but a 100U8K came available on Best Buy at $3k in my area with free shipping and installation.

I want the U8K for the MiniLEDs particularly. Is that worth the two week delay and $1k premium?

Deal for hisense 100U76N is available now in the DFW (McKinney) area! Was able to order two individually and was able to schedule it for delivery in Mid April. I am moving into my new home by then.
Thanks

How tall are your ceilings? Lol

Mine is 28" off the floor and it's almost bordering too high for comfort when sitting on my couch 14ft away.

I never really thought I had high ceilings but I guess maybe they are higher than normal?

Your comment has convinced me to lower mine 😒👍
