Tip: If you buy from Best Buy- add the plus membership to your order for $50. It'll extend your return period from 15 days to 60 for peace of mind in case the U8K comes back on sale or if you decide you just don't like it. You can cancel the membership within 60 days of purchasing it for a full refund.

They're offering free installation/wall mounting for these. Imagine that is useful w/ a TV this big!

If putting on a stand, you may want to check max weight supported. The 98" is around 125lbs and the 100" is around 138lbs.

After weeks of waiting, and 2 visits my Best Buy's geek quad of 4 people refused to take the TV upstairs where my Gameroom is claiming it was too dangerous. Worst experience ever with Best Buy. They refused to take it upstairs out of the box. They got all the excuses possible on how it was not possible. The roof upstairs is 9 foot tall, they said the turn was too dangerous.
Bro, get three friends to help you out and call it a day.

Yes they have. However, the 100U8K is now in stock (not with install) at Amazon for $3K. So that is now a better buy at the $3K price point as BB is at $3500 for the 100U76N. I'm getting my $2000 100U76N delivery from BB today which is still better buy for me (maybe not for you) at the $1000 price difference.

Interesting, yes, the install would be $300-$500 I would think in general, so about the same but now the two tvs are closer. I got one at 2,000 so that's good enough for me as well. Of course actually being in stock is probably the most important part haha.

My install will be easy as they just to place it on top of my furniture. The have one HDMI from teh AVR and teh external OTA attenna coaxial. Also, install a USB extension cable so using the USB port will be easier. I'll just have them see if I have sound through my AVR, and I will handle it from there. Looks like the install has been subcontracted out and not with the Geek Squad. I will appreciate them taking away the packing material which time saving to put it in the recycle bin. I did get an Apple TV as that or the Nvidia Shield was recommended. Too bad the install is one day after the Super Bowl!

I haven't dealt with such poor and incompetent customer support as from Best Buy in a long, long time. TV was supposed to be delivered and installed today between 7:00am and 10:00am. That window came and went with no calls or updates. I called the number in the delivery email at 1:00pm and got bounced around from one person to another, only to eventually be told that my delivery was still scheduled, they were unable to get hold of the delivery team, but they would call me back. No calls or updates all day as I twiddled my thumbs after having to stay home all day waiting. I called back at 5:00pm, only to go through the same gyrations as earlier and to be told once again I was still scheduled for delivery today, and the delivery team would soon call me. I also tried the "text/chat" option, only to be told after wasting 20 minutes that I needed to call the number I had already used twice and that had prompted me to use the text/chat option… At 7:00 I tried to call the local store, and after trying every single option and department available finally determined there is no way to talk to a local person, just someone, who-knows-where, routed through a call center. This time I was moved from one person to another, repeating all my information each time, only to be told I needed another dept. Finally after 40 minutes on hold with the 4th person I was disconnected.
But not to worry, the deliver link/website in my email still shows my appointment status as "on schedule". And to think yesterday I was asking about what I should be tipping the delivery/install guys.

My 100U76N was delivered today. It was interesting as I had three new things to learn, Apple TV, new AVR and TV. I had a puzzling problem with the ATV because I kept getting a weak signal or no signal message. I plugged into a different TV, and it was fine. I plugged it back to my AVR, and it started to work.

I'm not so keen with the Apple TV remote. A little too sensitive to my touch. Maybe I should try out the Nvidia Shield Pro.1080P and 4K looked great. TV was plenty bright. I'm glad I went with this TV although the 98S550G or the more expensive 100U8K would had been fine. I did watch the beginning of a movie and the surround sound was fantastic. Not sure if it was the new AVR, the additional height speakers or the TV. Much better than my older AVR-X3000 AVR/70" Vizio TV both around 10 years old. T

I had to tell the installers they didn't have to lay down the TV to install the legs as the the TV packaging was designed specifically to attach the legs with the TV right up.

Was it a third-party company or Geek Squad for installation? If it was a third party, they probably didn't want to do the job. Make sure you complain and get your $100 gift card. I ended up picking it up myself ( I rented U-Haul ) and installing it with the help of three people.

I don't know if it's geek squad or third party. Can't get any information…. Hell, I can't get hold of anyone at the local store. All of get is the flow-chart call-center idiots who know nothing and won't tell me how to get hold of someone at the leave store or a supervisor or anyone who can actually do something.

You can turn the swipe action off an the Apple TV remote and just use clicks. I did that and it is much better to me anyway. Even my kids found it a bit sensitive.

I sent you a message with a phone number of a lady from Best Buy who called me when my order was postponed 3 days. She seemed eager to help me unlike the sales associates you get. Unfortunately, Amazon isn't much better.

Thanks! I didn't know you could do that. Just holding the remote was a challenge without making the remote do something!

Currently, I bought tcl r5, and it's good. I was lucky enough to get u76 for the same price 2000. Delivering on Feb 22

Which one would be the best choice so that I can return. I see mixed reviews. Did anyone used both ?

We do watch TV for 12 hours a day in the background and enjoy sports.

We have 65 inch neo qn95b.
