89C has legs instead of a pedestal stand, otherwise identical.

I've had this TV for about 7 weeks or so now. Great TV, but just got a stuck-on pixel dead center. Tried all of the stuck pixel tricks, pixel refresh, etc. It's still there. Not too noticeable in most shows, but of course now my eye is always looking for it.

Absolutely this. It's competes with the C3 so getting it for less than the B3 is a steal. It's effectively the same TV as the S90C.

What source are you using to watch your TV? ie Streaming? Blu-Ray? Just asking as it might be the image processor difference. Also, did you tweaked the image settings? Out of the box this TV doesn't look as impressive as a Sony or LG maybe. Also remember, you have 15 days to return it if you bought it from Best Buy.

My experience is that between the C3 and this S90C I like more the S90C due to the brightness, the gaming mode, and they look very very close to each other. Image processor in the C3 gives it that edge in some scenarios but I for me the S90C wins (I don't care about DV or DTS).

Now, if we go to Sony A95L or LG G3 territory then I say hands down they beat the S90C. It still looks great, specially if you feed it high bitrate HDR10 content and not just compressed over the air TV or Netflix. Which is a lot of people's use case though.
I had very high hopes after reading some reviews, so I hope you're right.

I need to find a guide to image settings because it just looks un-sharp…and kinda blurry compared to the LG.

4k streaming is typically how I watch and I have very good fiber internet at home. Streaming 4k movies too just don't look very crisp. The screen just looks like a low end TV. Fingers crossed the settings help.

I forgot to mention, it's the same source material that the LG C2 has.

If 4k streams don't look crisp you got a lemon. Request a replacement.

Bought the 2 year geek squad with chase sapphire for 220, essentially 4 years of protection. 1 year manufacturer + 2 year geek squad + 1 year chase sapphire warranty
the Best Buy warranty is concurrent with the manufacturer, and the chase warranty starts after the manufacturer warranty is over, so you will have two warranties running at the same time over two years.

Correct, misstated the Chase warranty.

However, confirmed with Geek Squad that coverage for hardware issues start after manufacturer warranty and pointed me to 3.a of the contract.

"Therefore, Coverage for hardware failure described in Section 5.1 will begin when the manufacturer's warranty expires except that if the manufacturer's warranty does not cover one of the listed Coverage items in Section 5.1, this Plan will provide coverage on the Plan start date."

That quote indicates that Best Buy won't cover hardware failure if the manufacturer's warranty will cover it, however, they will cover it if the manufacturer doesn't. I don't want you to get caught with any surprises down the line. The "Plan start date" is when you purchase the TV or warranty.

Rtings.com - "The Samsung S89C OLED is a variant of the Samsung S90C OLED, and they're identical outside of the S89C coming with feet instead of a stand."

HDR10+ looks incredible. Regular 4k is kinda meh

I watched Top Gun Maverick (via Amazon Prime) last night and it was amazing. It looked better than it does on my LG C2 77".

4k menu screens just look kinda blurry. And standard 4k content is just very underwhelming to the point where my LG C2 77" looks far superior.

Thanks for the guidance…. I went to ratings and used their calibration settings.

Watched Top Gun Maverick in HDR10+ last night and it looked absolute amazing….way better than it looks on my LG C2 77"…the picture is notably richer. It's not even close. I feel like this will be my main movie TV if I can find the movies in HDR10+. Truly amazing.

But in regular menus, or regular 4k streaming (YouTube TV, Netflix, MAX, etc.) so far this TV just hasn't been able to compete with the LG C2 77". It's got a blurry, non-sharp look. The best way I can describe this complaint is it looks like a projector that is slightly out of focus.

I guess I'll keep looking for a way to adjust settings to my needs…but I'm hoping I can use the 89 for more than just HDR10+ movie content.

SDR and HDR use different settings. Make sure you're adjusting the settings while playing both types of content.

Yeah. Samsung's canned response is deceptive because they know very well there isn't anything they will do under warranty about the problem. I've had great luck with Samsung TV's over the years, this one was amazing until the stuck pixel. Now I have a $2k TV that lasted 7 weeks. I have the Geek Squad warranty, but they won't cover it until 3 dead/stuck pixels. Fingers crossed.

If it makes you feel better my S90C came bent in the corner. I am working with Samsung to get it replaced. Might go pick one up at Best Buy given I don't want to chat it is damaged in shipping again.

That sucks, sorry you're having to deal with that. The current-era philosophy of "you'll take what we can be bothered to give you and be happy about it -- now give us your money" continues.

As a few others have also noted, Best Buy had a third party deliver the TV. Wasn't too happy with how the guy hulked it off the truck then wouldn't take it past my porch. So much for "TV will be delivered into the room of your choice." I doubt it's the cause of the issue I have, but certainly wouldn't have helped things.
