Have this fridge - really like it. The shelves have enough depth to hold plenty of items. It even fits smaller sized pizza boxes. I would buy again but my wife demands an ice make on door

Fridges with ice maker have a higher tendency to have more issues, just like having more tech in the fridge.

Our 20 year old Whirlpool from 2004 is still doing well. No issues with ice maker or anything else, knock on wood. And this is model is what builders included at the time, so I have been surprised to see it last nice and long.
I've been so disappointed by the poor quality of fridges in recent years. I have a 20 year old amana that's showing signs of aging but I discovered that you can go on eBay and basically buy anything for this fridge, I was able to replace a few key components that made this fridge almost unusable and now it feels like a new fridge again, I've heard some of the new fridges use plastic trays and rails or have non adjustable shelves and the shelves are cheap plastic that will break. Or the water dispenser is really slow and feels like it could break any minute. I'm more convinced by keeping an older fridge running is cheaper and better than spending 1000$ once every 5 years on a new fridge

For how long? Any comments on durability?
