I have this installed about 3 days ago. So far so good. I combined it with a same brand doorbell and the home base 3 with bunch more cameras. It has a neat integration with the doorbell, so you can directly open the door as you view the doorbell video. Good thing I liked about this ecosystem is that there is no subscription. All videos are stored on the homebase device in your home.

I've had mine installed for about a month and battery appears to still be at 100%. Installation was super easy, it looks nice, functions as it should, and it has some neat integration ability with other cameras on your system. That said, the body of this entire unit is a cheap-feeling plastic that kind of surprised me. I'm sure the locking mechanism itself is sufficient for its purpose, but it doesn't inspire confidence for a high-traffic exterior door. I used mine on an interior door from the garage into the house--I don't think i'd feel comfortable with using it on a high-traffic exterior door (though i'm sure it'd be fine).

I'd buy it again, but that's the use case i'd personally restrict it to.

Does anyone know if these locks fit doors in other countries, namely Japan?

they said they store nothing on the cloud. they did so anyway. and not only that, all videos including specific facial recognition, location and your wifi data were sent to and stored in china. watch the Linus tech tips video.

I wouldn't want china even storing videos of me picking my nose
This is false information. Check youtube for the video "the internet is WRONG about Eufy". Someone actually did the work and explained what has happened.

One common issue I see in these locks, the auto lock deadbolt doesn't recede while closing. Meaning let's say that auto lock period is 30secs and you held the door open for more than 30 secs, you've to manually unlock it to close the door. If you forget this accidentally & shut the door (force of habit) the deadbolt will damage the door frame and might damage the locking mechanism as well.

I know it's a very minor thing and we need to be conscious about it. But since these locks are all about convenience, I don't understand why they didn't consider this.

Any suggestions for a smart lock (with fingerprint) that lets the deadbolt recede (even when locked) while closing ?
If the lock could combine with an entry sensor, I think that would solve your problem

I agree with his frustration on the auto lock timing. There should be more adjustability--the timer settings only allow between 10 seconds and 3 minutes. Given that this is all on a 'smart' device, I don't know why they couldn't give you an option for something like 10 minutes. 3 minutes isn't enough time to take out my trash.

I kind of circumvented my issue (since this is on an interior door) by setting a schedule for the auto lock function. If i'm going in and out of that particular door, chances are i'm actively working on something in the garage, but I want to make sure it's locked up each evening.

What information could they possibly learn? How often I leave my house?
With access through this to your wifi anyone can map your house and floor plan.

Why would they want to know this I haven't a clue.

I installed it a month ago on a door leading into garage as well. It's a simple unit and functions well so far for its limited purpose.

Had one for four months. I like it, no issues so far. Battery change only once so far. May last longer with name brand batteries.

I had a similar problem with my Schlage Zwave lock. I added a Zwave open/close sensor and created a routine that closes the lock 30 seconds after the door closes. I suppose you could do something similar with this unit.

Odd that Eufy brags about their locks being grade 3. That's the lowest grade for a lock. Yale comes in at 2.

Had this lock for over 6 months now. Still one the original batteries. Only complain is the keypads it took awhile for you to enter the code. I got tired of that so every time I parked the car I just unlock using the app.

Is it bad to buy one of these smart locks that also has integrated manual key feature? I feel this can be picked easily no?

I have two of the model with fingerprint reader, number pad, and the cover for the key for over two years. They both work great. Battery life is 6+ months. But BUT, you should have a strong 2.4gz wifi signal. Otherwise it's going to toast the battery.

I had a bit of an alignment issue on install for one of the two units which caused more resistance when turning deadbolt. However, it seems to have alleviated over time.

Again, slightly diff model but great experience with Eufy doorlocks.

I have it and it's been good for my house. The issues I found were:
- lock does jam quite often if you don't have extra clearance on your channel.
- battery dies quick! I had it installed in September and I got a warning this week that the battery is low.
- even with the included rubber wall mount, I still see some liquid passing behind it. Didn't do any damage as it's mostly on the side. But something I noticed.
- keypad is hard to use in winter
- easy to scratch with key
