soldered RAM at this price should be obsolete.

I returned a G14 for this and am much happier with the build quality and software stability, also the OLED display is amazing! The battery life isn't bad if you're not using the RTX 4060...

Use the regular gpu for almost everything and not the 4060. It's in the Lenovo vantage settings

Cons:
Fan noise and a tad small for productivity.
Pros:
120 Hz OLED looks great in minimal lighting.
Also pros:
2.8k screen
100% sRGB
<1ms GTG response time
3.8 lbs
lightweight charger
usb-c charging
aluminum lid and bottom casing
fingerprint reader for windows hello
full-powered 4060 (105 watts, nvidia's voltage limit makes higher wattage 4060 perform the same)
long battery life with option to use iGPU only
two m.2 slots
fully customizable fan curves
rapid charge
adaptive refresh rate

Also cons:
weak but clear speakers
single color, two-level keyboard backlight
no numpad
no rj45 port
soldered RAM

The OLED is very bright to me - I have it at 60% most of the time, 75% in brighter environments. I also believe there is an anti-glare coating on the screen as the glare is nothing like a standard device with a glossy screen.

Great review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u...VDE&t=852s

I also have owned this laptop for about a month now. It's a secondary machine solely for travel (I have a phat desktop rig). In general I really like this laptop to the point where I have a 32GB RAM model on order from Lenovo (and will return this unit to Best Buy) as I'd like to futureproof this laptop as much as possible. I've owned past models from Asus, Razer and Alienware FWIW.

A couple other pros that haven't been listed:

- Quiet mode is surprisingly decent for gaming. There's at least one video detailing this, but Lenovo is able to scale back the AMD CPU's power draw under quiet mode to such a low power draw that the PC can devote more wattage to the 4060 while still keeping thermals under control with lower fan noise as a result. They aren't the most demanding games, but with both Company of Heroes 3 and Total War: Warhammer 3 I had no issues playing long sessions in silent mode with the dGPU at good framerates. Per Jarrod, the Slim 5 14 under stress testing allocates 64.3W to the 4060 and 10.7W to the CPU. In comparison, the Asus G14 with 4060 can muster 54.9W and 25W respectively and is a tad louder using its quiet mode, but I'd much rather have the extra wattage on the GPU since the CPU is unlikely to be the bottleneck at higher resolutions.

- The screen sits on top of the main chassis, so it's closer to you when open and in use. I was originally planning on buying the aforementioned Asus G14 instead, but the extra half-inch of screen real estate with the Legion and the placement of the screen on top of the chassis makes it feel significantly more immersive than the screen being "behind" the chassis as well as sitting low on the table like the Asus. The difference in height made a surprisingly big difference in the amount of leaning I naturally resort to when using a laptop screen.

Finally, just a heads up that the AmEx $100 rebate for $1200+ purchase direct from Lenovo is back in effect through April in case you wanted to customize this laptop instead of purchasing the pre-spec'd model from Best Buy.

Is this OLED screen matte finish or Glossy? Getting conflicting info…

In the description it says glossy, but in the feature details it say…

14" OLED display
SuperBright technology with matte finish maintains the vivid colors in your movies, photos and videos while also reducing glare. 2880 x 1800 resolution

If anyone's curious I own this for about a month now and like it a lot. It's compact and built pretty well. Lots of ppl are scared about 16gb ram but IMO, by the time most games "require" 32gb minimum, most of the other specs will be outdated as well so I'll most likely upgrade the laptop. For now, most games run just fine on 16. Actually, more than fine, they run amazingly! Also that OLED screen is awesome. The size and aspect ratios make it not feel too cramped and it just looks great.
It's also surprisingly thin and light (can hold with one hand by its corner like a MacBook Air)
Keyboard is also amazing to type on.

ONLY real con for me are the speakers. They suck even worse than I expected. They are "fine" but I would say they are far from enjoyable.

Thanks for your feedback. Can you check my question right above yours in regards to the screen itself? Is it matte or glossy. Both are mentioned in the specs on the product page

It's glossy. That language probably refers to some sort of panel treatment to make it slightly less reflective (like what LG OLED TVs have) but it's definitely a glossy screen.

The keyboard is kind of mushy, the trackpad is plastic, and the speakers are garbage, I had ordered it on bestbuy but after using the display model I cancelled my order. FYI it was a new display model, it wasn't there last week

I paid $1006 on January 31st for my Open-Box excellent with 7 hours on it. Chatted with CS for a minute and they wouldn't price match for the Open-Box. But now I'm considering just spending the extra $54 for the brand new version. With certain CC's you can get a full extra two years on top of the manufacturer's warranty, but not applicable on open-box items. Hmm..
I would try taking it back in store and see what they say. They often lose money on the best laptop sales but the manager will try to get rid of open box however they can so they aren't stuck with it when the model gets switched out. At least that's how it used to be when I sold them

I could try that but it would have to be a pretty big discount. I just placed an order direct from Lenovo for this model but with 32gb of RAM for $1140 + tax.

None of this is true. The keyboard is clicky and the trackpad is glass.

You probably saw a different model on display, these are not on display in most stores.

It was for sure that model, it's on sale for $1059, keyboard was way inferior compared to rog g14 and slim 7, trackpad definitely felt like plastic

Not sure which specific cards have that offer, but my Delta SkyMiles AmEx has it. I just got an email about the latest offers yesterday and that was one of them. You can check which offers are available to you here if you have an AmEx: https://www.americanexpress.com/e...ts/offers/

Thanks, Its not on my Delta Amex or Blue Cash cards. I chatted with Amex customer service and they said it was a limited quantity and all discounts were claimed already.
