You no.
But they might find the TV more attractive.

This one. Q80C is $4,000 more, has like 1/16 the dimming zones, isn't as bright, etc. You're paying for the Samsung name with that one mostly. It'll be better in certain aspects but not $4k better.

IMHO if you're seriously considering spending $3,000 on a TV, You probably don't have a problem spending $4,000.

do we really have rich frugal shoppers here? it just doesn't seem like it fits here.
I mean probably not— but what's $4,000? The 98 Samsung is $4,000 MORE (it's $7,000)

I don't recommend this product, we bought and there is constant loud pitch noise coming the moment you start it. Hisense either wants to destroy the tv to give your money back or they don't care at all. Avoid at all costs, they used cheap parts for this TV and destined to fail at any given time. Let alone it does not even function properly when you use it for the first time. You have been warned.

Sounds like you got a bad tv. Which does suck don't get me wrong. I own the 65 inch and this is by far the best tv I have ever owned. Holy crap Imax movies in Dolby Vision. Whew.

Have they cured the known banding issues from last years U8H model?
I have a 65" and I can only imagine banding on a 100" screen
I have this same model. No banding I can see

I had this exact same issue! I tried working with Hisense for a month and a half and finally gave up and returned it with BestBuy. Hisense literally asked me to put their 100" U8K back in the box and ship it to them. They also said they couldn't replace it because they have zero stock and don't expect any stock in the first half of this year. I finally got them to say they would send someone to pick it up but they refused to remove it from the wall mount. Their customer service was horrible. BestBuy scheduled a pick up and return within 10 minutes. It also would randomly turn off.

a better picture is worth a lot more than Dolby vision capability

I own the Samsung QN90a and the Hisense U8H
The Samsung is a better TV, watching HDR10, versus the Hisense U8 displaying Dolby Vision

There is rtings.com article that you might read on the subject

Yup, some of these tv's not having DV is an easy skip for me personally as that fixes a lot of issues HDR had for a decent amount of movies I have bought. This probably isn't a huge issue for many but if you still buy a good amount of actual physical movies it's def. a real issue.

I actually have the QN90a as well actually. But the TVs have way different price points. The 100" Hisense is $3k. The 98" QN90a is $10k.

They said the U8K would be $10k. I could see the 98UX being $6-7k normal, $4-5k on sale.

I returned my U8K 100". Beautiful TV, but flawed by the black bars during movies having blooming/backlight issues. I think it's a software issue, as a tv with this many dimming zones shouldn't have this issue. 16:9 content was also perfect with no blooming issues. I'd personally also prefer a gloss screen, and this u8k is semi-gloss.

Also, a note for anyone curious. It's an absolute bear of a tv to prep and mount. I purchased this mount in case they come out with 110"-120" TVs in the next few years.

Why do people say, "In my humble opinion." Just by saying something, we know it's your opinion, because what else would it be considered?

Do you understand how rich people get and stay rich? They don't spend all their money. I'll bet you're that person who isn't rich, but spends money like you are, in order to impress people. Frugality is actually one of the most commonly shared traits of millionaires.
