You no.
But they might find the TV more attractive.

This one. Q80C is $4,000 more, has like 1/16 the dimming zones, isn't as bright, etc. You're paying for the Samsung name with that one mostly. It'll be better in certain aspects but not $4k better.

I definitely would not recommend the two of you mount it. The two geek squad guys from BestBuy about died twice. Once getting it up the stairs and mounted. The second when they had to take it off the mount a month and a half later and carry it back down the stairs to return it because it was defective. I'd recommend 3 people to be safe.
What was wrong with it?

I actually have the QN90a as well actually. But the TVs have way different price points. The 100" Hisense is $3k. The 98" QN90a is $10k.
This is a good read about the importance of Dolby Vision versus the picture quality
https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/h...lby-vision

I have the Hisense U8H and the Samsung QN90a..both in a 65"
I paid $200 more for the Samsung and its a better picture quality TV, all the way around, regardless of the fact that it doesnt have Dolby Vision

where are you finding a Samsung QN90a in a 98" today?

Amazon and BestBuy both have the 98" for $10k. I have the 65" version and it's a great tv. And once again I'm agreeing with you so no need to send material. All I'm saying is for I'm going to the $3k Hisense over the $10k Samsung at 100"

The Hisense is a great value, like I said I mown last years U8H
But I think we can agree, if you nitpick picture quality it may not be to your liking

I posted a couple of comments on this thread that you should be able to find but I'll keep it short so people don't think I'm hating on Hisense. The tv emitted a loud high pitch ringing sound that made it impossible to watch content. I tried working with Hisense for a month and a half and finally gave up. I tried keeping the tv and working with them until they could replace it and they refused. Ended up returning through BestBuy and now I have no tv because they don't have it in stock either.

Agreed. Some people will just never be happy. Rtings is great for rating TVs but people also need to understand that the average person would not be able to tell the difference between the u8k and an lg c3 unless they were literally side by side. I had mine in a dedicated theater room though so I could tell a difference because it's light controlled and all that. But throw a 65" u8k in a well lit family room and everyone should be happy with it.

You are generalizing.
But, to your point there are a lot of $250-300 65" TV's here on slick deals that people love.

I personally dont think I would ever mistake a C3 for a U8 and they would not have to be side by side for me to discern.
When I bought the U8H( for $600) on clearance, the banding/posterization and extremely constrained viewing angle limitations struck me in the first 30 minutes of viewing

BUT..it was $600, used in an occasional use home office and good enough for maybe 2 hours a week of viewing.

IMHO if you're seriously considering spending $3,000 on a TV, You probably don't have a problem spending $4,000.

do we really have rich frugal shoppers here? it just doesn't seem like it fits here.
I started on SD and FW when I had a 3 digit net worth and I'm still here with a 7 digit net worth. (RIP FW)

I don't recommend this product, we bought and there is constant loud pitch noise coming the moment you start it. Hisense either wants to destroy the tv to give your money back or they don't care at all. Avoid at all costs, they used cheap parts for this TV and destined to fail at any given time. Let alone it does not even function properly when you use it for the first time. You have been warned.
I have this TV and do not have this issue. It sounds like yours is broken.

I 10/10 recommend this TV. Awesome product

I had this exact same issue! I tried working with Hisense for a month and a half and finally gave up and returned it with BestBuy. Hisense literally asked me to put their 100" U8K back in the box and ship it to them. They also said they couldn't replace it because they have zero stock and don't expect any stock in the first half of this year. I finally got them to say they would send someone to pick it up but they refused to remove it from the wall mount. Their customer service was horrible. BestBuy scheduled a pick up and return within 10 minutes. It also would randomly turn off.
I think that Hisense TVs have major quality issues after 1 year. My U8H last 11 months and now it won't power on. I googled for fixes and found the same problem for many buyers. My tech is coming soon. How did you get them to pick it up? My town does not recycle electronics and I do not want to drive to the recycle center. I bought my unit from Amazon. Thanks.

Just wish I could see a true comparison review between the u76 and this to know if its worth the hassle of returning the u76 and mounting the u8 along with the 1k price increase
Ditto, anyone?

The 100" U8K has 1600+ dimming zones & the 100" U76N has 256 dimming zones. That one statistic tells you that they are in a completely different class.

& by the way, 1600 zones isn't even all that impressive for a 100" TV...the 65" U8K has 1000 by comparison.

2024 65" 8 series TVs from TCL & Hisense (coming in 3-6 months) are expected to have around 5000 zones, just for reference.

Also U76N model number seems deceiving. It seems more like a 5 series or 6 series than a 7 series.

Of course I'm generalizing. That's why's I said the average person. You are talking about banding/posterization. You aren't the average person.
