Bought this last week when it was again on sale for 999. Love it. Works great. Been playing helldivers on it on pretty much highest settings. Runs buttery smooth.
Thanks Wajahat! I bought the Lenovo legion 5 that you had posted that is regularly on eBay and I love it. I'm now adding this 14 inch to my laptop lineup to use on campus because of its size. Keep up the good work of looking for deals.

After spending hours trying to find a decent hub with dp 1.4 without weird hardware limitations, 2.5gbe ethernet, and a few extra ports for whatever, and low priced, I figured I would drop this link here. I just can't believe how rare it is to find what I needed. Now my laptop is complete.

WAVLINK USB C Laptop Docking Station, 12-in-1 Triple Monitor Multiport Adapter with 4K HDMI, Dual 8K DP, 100W PD, 10Gbps USB3.1, USB2.0, RJ45, SD/TF Slots, Audio/Mic, for MacBook/Dell/HP/Lenovo https://a.co/d/iH4yikt
Did you know what chip is the 2.5gb ethernet? I was trying to find a intel based adapter, but i only find with realtek chip, just saw on reddit people saying they have worst ms with this adapters playing competitive games

i bought this laptop in a similar deal several weeks ago for 870$ open box. I got full warranty from asus and have had no issues with it after doing a clean wipe and install of windows (i didnt use the asus recovery partition, a clean install runs so much better)

upgrading the ram is more expensive than I thoughht it would be. Adding a 16gb ddr5 sodimm is about 45-40 dollars, and adding 32gb is about 90 dollars. After doing that and upgrading the internal ssd, it almost makes sense to buy a different laptop because that adds another $200 to the price tag.

i get 140fps in cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p near ultra with dlss frame generation on. Customizing the thermal limits is necessary for controlling the fan noise though

what laptop did you wish you got after spending the money upgrading?

I both this laptop at BestBuy for $999!! I upgrade the ram to 48GB, the SSD to 4GB and swapped out the WiFi card - about $350 altogether. It's a wolf in sheep's clothing!! It runs quiet in Balanced or Silent mode. Extremely light and portable. ❤️ It!!!

To me it feels a little odd to spend so much upgrading. These GPUs can only handle games for what, 4-5yrs at decent settings? After that you pass it down to your kid or something.

Might as well get a desktop around $7-800 and a cheap Chromebook with what's left over. I wonder if game streaming is the best option cost wise over a decade.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I had built a gaming desktop back in 2018 and spent so much on it.. to graduate and move and leave it at home lol. I'm hesitant to redo this mistake.

I haven't considered streaming because I like to own my games.

Great to know. I have been on the fence between this and Lenovo legion slim 5. Any idea how the dual channel RAM works with mismatched sizes? I have tried to read up but could not find concrete info.

The laptop arrived yesterday, and I'm impressed with the screen—it boasts rich, vibrant colors compared to my Legion 5. The keyboard is another standout feature, offering a top-notch experience for both typing and gaming. It's so comfortable that I wouldn't mind writing a lengthy essay on this or my Legion.

Fan noise during gaming isn't any different from my Legion, but that's easily managed with headphones. It's a reminder that some level of fan noise is unavoidable for gaming laptops. The heat buildup around where my hands rest and type is minimal, which is a stark contrast to the heat issues I've experienced with an Acer Predator in the past.

During my initial setup, I noticed a slight buzzing or coil whine under the keyboard when launching War Thunder. However, this issue resolved itself after a few minutes. I opted for a fresh installation of Windows 11 and used g-helper from GitHub instead of Asus Armory Crate to avoid unnecessary bloatware.

I'll keep an eye on the buzzing issue and update if it occurs again. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the performance and experience this laptop offers.

Game streaming isn't quite ready. I have 1gb internet, playing warthunder some assets would load on screen slowly, during a match an enemy tank that hadn't been rendered yet knocked me out. Issues of input lag and latency while using game streams most premium plan. Until it is consistent, I cannot recommend it, it will cause extreme frustration.

I was curious about this too. They seem very similar however the potential for burn in and 16GB soldered RAM on the lenovo concern me as it's for my son.
These are both legitimate concerns on the Lenovo

I was thinking more about single player games, since those are the ones that tend to be graphically intensive (and consume a lot of storage).

Finally set mines up today. The build feels fantastic and display is brilliant. Getting used to the white color though since almost everything I get is in black, lol.

I personally don't care for the holes on the lid. Thinking about getting a black vinyl wrap for mine down the road.
