Didn't have this one. Had the 310. Took a while before I realize that if you turn off the propane at the tank, it will trip the safety and it would only output like 20% power. You'd have to reset it by detaching the hose and waiting fifteen minutes. I was trying to be extra safe by shutting it off at the tank every time and basically the grill thinks you ran out of gas and it tries to keep you from blowing up. This I definitely a feature and not a flaw. A lot of other gas grills are the same.
These Weber grills are really nice for the price. You can get cheaper grills that might have a higher BTU rating but the build quality is not the same. Webers generally have a thicker gauge steel and have better heat retention. The heat distribution is usually a lot better too. Some of the cheaper grills will have 5 burners but you'll notice that the flames would be hotter in a specific corner or only on one side.
I have the Weber 310 and I love it. I owned a charbroil prior and that ish was trash. Everything rusted and i barely got 2.5 years with it. My weber, still in fantastic shape. I will say I host often and sometimes I wish I had a bigger grill, with that in mind the 210 is pretty small if you were someone who hosts
Oh how I miss the days when the 2 burner Webers would go on sale for 199. I have a family of 4 and it is just right. My version of this grill goes back 5-6 years. I'm not a "grill master". Just a dad that likes to cook his family a good meal 5-6 times a month. Burgers, chicken steak and veggies are all evenly cooked and company worthy. Heat wise, I get it up to 500-550 pretty quickly to seer my steaks in the beginning.

I have the 210 and always shut it off at the tank. I have to look into this, I had no idea…

Just last week got done deep cleaning my 310. Took several days, lots of bar keepers friend, and oven cleaner.

What a nightmare.

Found rust in various places, so it's not like these grills don't rust like everybody likes to pretend.

My 310 is about 10 years old. I only replaced flavor bars 5 years ago or so, everything else is still original. Not a speck of rust anywhere and it still works as well as it did on day one. It's always been kept covered outside, sun, rain or snow. If it ever breaks, I'm buying another Weber for sure.

Have a 2.5 year old Spirit 210, along with a 310 and one of the $1600 models. The 210 is rusting terribly. Weber says its the outdoor environment, however my other much older weber grills are not rusting and the 210 only rusts in select areas, some areas are fine, others on the legs near the wheels are nearly rusted through. The 210 is unlike any of the other Weber grills i have owned. $360 is a good price, just know that it is not the same build quality as any of the other models and expect it too rust rapidly. I also had to replace the regulator and it was not covered under the warranty. I have a $119 Home Depot grill that is 5 years old and nearly rust free. Very disappointed in the Weber 210.
Weber went to private equity in 2010, and then severely cut quality around 2017, including in the higher priced Genesis II line. Anyone who tells you about how their 15+ year old Weber are running great with some replacement parts is dealing with a different (and far better) era of Weber quality. It's a brand coasting on reputation at this point. I got a Genesis II in 2017 and by 2022 it was falling apart (not just replaceable parts like the flavorizer bars).

If you're going to look at a Genesis grill, I would recommend looking at the Napoleon Prestige series instead - still made in the US and Canada, and the optional side infrared burner is awesome. If you're looking at something cheaper, I would look at other brands before Weber...

Check the grates. Amazon vs Local Home Depot puts different grates in the grill. I remember buying online and got it with thin grates. Local stores put triangle shaped cast iron ones.

For $299, I bought this 4-burner BBQ [samsclub.com] from Sam's Club a few weeks ago (still on sale).
They directly compare it, feature-by-feature, to the Weber Genesis E335.
I've never owned a Weber but I've owned a Kirkland grill for over 10 years prior to this so I know you don't have to buy name brand to get a good grill..
For $299, if I keep it covered and it lasts 5+ years (should last more) then I'm happy and didn't spend $1000 on a name-brand 4-burner. That's my logic.

FWIW, I used the Sam's Club grill last night for the first time on some Filet steaks. They came out perfect.

If you have only a small space for a BBQ, I would probably get this Weber but if you want bigger and spend less, the Sam's Club one works well.

This. Before I went frugal on my new Sam's Club grill, I looked into Napoleon, and that's what I really want. But it's expensive. Long warranty, too. But, man...it sure looks nice!

I bought this on clearance at Walmart for $199 4 years ago at the end of the season and have absolutely loved it. I have a family of 4 and it has had plenty of room. We've made everything from steaks, to corn on the cob, to pork loins on it and it works perfect. Highly recommend this.

Check Facebook Marketplace on these if you're willing to go used. There are some nice looking ones on there in my location at ~$200. Used grills don't seem to hold their value very well.

Had this grill. Hated it. Didn't get hot enough.

This is what prevents me from jumping on this. Worried 2 burners /26k BTU just isn't gonna cut it when I want to crank it.

Where did you find this info? I looked at the Weber site and it's recommended to close at the fuel source.

From what I read

Propane tanks and natural gas lines are both "fuel sources" for gas grills. Many customers who leave their fuel source "on" do so as a matter of convenience. It's one less thing to turn on or off before and after grilling.

Regardless of the fuel source, for safety reasons, it's very important to turn off the supply of gas to the grill when it's not in use.

If someone or something were to turn on one the control knobs on the grill, it would fill with gas, creating the potential for a very dangerous situation. The best case outcome to this scenario is that the customer would have wasted their gas.

I have this grill and while I love it, I feel like the front of the grill (towards the operator) doesn't get very hot. The rear burners get super hot as expected, but the front will be warm, but still be cool enough that I can hold my hand over it. Basically functioning as a warmer. I checked the burner tubes when I cleaned it and everything looks clear. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
