Same. I know this isn't a "premium" tablet but even with the 8gb of ram it feels sluggish right out of the box. Probably going to send it back and find something else
Yes. I had the tablet and returned it for this very reason.
I paid $10 more a few days ago. The tablet is decent but hasn't wowed me (a bit sluggish and scfeen qualoty is just average) so debating whether to keep it.

I was still on the fence until reading comments just now... I have an S6 circa 2019 with 6/128 and the all important super amoled screen. Still a better tablet and very usable today. I'm looking for another.
Got this a few weeks ago. It's a big improvement in speed over the tab a7. Probably the extra ram makes a difference so long as you get the 128gb one. The one with smaller storage has less ram and will be a bit slower. Very happy to avoid spending more than double for an S tab.
I was looking for tablets recently. This has USB 2.0 Type-C, so no HDMI out to external monitor-- that was a dealbreaker for me. I would rather not cast or screen mirror.
Get the 9th Gen iPad for $250 unless you need specific Android apps.
Might want to wait on buying an iPad 9. New iPads are supposed to be announced on March 26th. Likely the 9 will be discontinued, and discounted
I bought the iPad 9th gen on sale around Black Friday. I hated going back to the "Home" button, and hated it being the only Lightening device left after I moved to an iPhone 15 Pro. I sold it within 2 weeks and bought an iPad Air 5 (it was very close in price to the 10th generation iPad, but a much better processor.)
I wouldn't buy either the Air 5 or 10th generation right now either though. An iPad Air 6 is coming out, and the 10th generation is likely to replace the 9th as the lower end iPad.
Cheers!

ETA: Might be a bit later than March 26, sometime in April? Lots of articles, this was a quick search.
I bought this last time it was this price so I've had it for around 6 weeks. Speakers are great louder than my iPhone 12 Pro Max and louder than iPad 9 gen easily. It works great for what I use it for just browsing, pages load up fast for me scrolling, streaming. No gaming.

I ended up ordering this one instead for $262, USB 3.2 Type-C - https://www.ebay.com/itm/175410009441

Have seen some discounting on the iPad Air 5. 9 and 10 are on sale at same previous sale prices, $250 and $350.

I'm actually leaving Apple and moving back to Samsung after 1.5 years of using both daily, side-by-side, but that's a different discussion
