This is a no-brainer deal for anyone wanting to get an Atmos system. I got this last year and I have never gone above volume 20 in my apartment 🤣...try top gun maverick with it and you'll see that the hype is not exaggerated.

It boils down to the limitations of your tv passthrough compared to the soundbar passthrough limitations. For example, most lg 2022 tv's and older ( c2, c1, etc..) don't passthrough DTS signals or PCM signals and will be down-mixed to a diferent format while the 990c can passthrough these signals. On the other hand, the 990c can't pass 4k @ 120 or Dolby vision and hence the comment you referenced regarding HDMI 2.1 for the 990D.

I have an LGSN9Y, and it's utterly underwhelming. Better than TV speakers, but having come from a dedicated received a speaker system, it's significantly inferior. Don't expect an all-in-one to be able to match a proper system, but the rear satellites on the 990 would go a long way.

Definitely sooner. If I had to guess, I would say arround next April or May.

Bought @ $758.09 a few days ago (EPP and referral) and it's coming on Thursday. Chat unfortunately denied price match to the $731.49 it is now with discounts. Was debating on a new order and returning original for the $30 difference but I'd be waiting another 2 weeks for it and I'd rather not have to deal with Samsungs return process (refusing delivery or shipping it back and waiting 2+ weeks for a refund).

I'm trying to get that price with my AAA Samsung discount, but It is was only showing up as $1099, and now even that's not working. When I got to my PC and clicked on the SD link it showed $769, but when adding it to the cart and went to checkout it showed $1099 or $1399, I'm not sure what the issue is.

** It looks like I couldn't verify my Education status, so it isn't applying any more ** I wish someone could make me an EPP account in exchange for $5 Amazon GC.
