This is a no-brainer deal for anyone wanting to get an Atmos system. I got this last year and I have never gone above volume 20 in my apartment 🤣...try top gun maverick with it and you'll see that the hype is not exaggerated.

Does this soundbar make sense for a 2019 65Q70R? I am not sure I would get all the benefit from the bar due to the old technology on the TV.

Edit: bought a 65'' s90c with the 990c soundbar for a total of $2,019.79 (inc taxes) with 2y warranty! Such a great deal!

Can someone clarify the HDMI 2.1 4K@120hz dilemma?

I have a LG C3 OLED. My understanding is the issues with eARC compatibility has been fixed in this model compared to LG C2. My question is whether I can connect this soundbar directly to the eARC port of the tv and then connect any device (SHIELD, PS5, etc) directly to the TV HDMI ports to reap the benefits of the 4k@120HZ / full audio passthrough compatibility (DTS, Dolby Vision, etc.)? On the other hand, if I were to connect these peripherals to hdmi ports on the sounbar, I wouldn't get 4k@120hz? Is this correct?

No HDMI 2.1, and there's no 4K 120hz passthrough. Only 1080P and 120, or 4K 60hz. Seems like a handicap for Xbox/PS5 users, especially given the price.
Thanks for this, about pulled the trigger but this wouldve been used on a LG C3 and PS5.

As far as I know you can still use your LG C3 with this soundbar and still reap the full benefits of the 4k@120hz. The trick is to connect the soundbar to the eARC port on the tv, but instead of connecting the PS5 to the HDMI port on the soundbar, you have to use the HDMI ports on the TV. This would not work on LG C2, but because you have the C3 it should.

I am with you the same, I don't think its worth it for just 2 rear side firing channel to pay the extra 150 bucks. It doesn't make sense especially since your rear speaker just right behind you. I bet you can't really tell the difference when listening.
agreed. Pictures attached, can people suggest if it's worth me returning these 9500's or running them? I have power on both left and right of the speaker areas, and I have the room to mount them. the couch middle between her and me is centered to the tv as well

Looking at my room, thinking of this set up. (pics) green arrows dictate the direction of speaker point. also, I can reduce the power to them via smart things app, so instead of full blast, I can make them like 20% due to being closer.

I am replacing the denon 2.1 sound bar photo with the Samsung q900c on the tv stand. (btw the little denon C210's from Costco for 99 are fricken great) I got 2 of them, and the voice options and such, for bedrooms are great, actually the sound bar is fricken fantastic, but for my living rooms I wanted real upgrades since I went down this rabbit hole and saw this deal. EPP

dont get me wrong, im perfectly content with idea of just using the 900c sound bar. its just I did get these speakers open box for 74 bucks before tax. the 9500s so id like to utilize them if would make my experience better for shows/games.

thinking these mounts. tho pricy says 30 pounds, reason I want strong ones is because I got these two turd cats that I can see climbing on the speakers eventually

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...J2Y9&psc=1

or maybe these, even tho not rated for 30 pounds. look nice

edit I found this picture. I dont know if its accurate, but wouldn't my set up mimic this?

I could be wrong, but the PS5 doesn't support Dolby/DTS at this time so you should be good.
It's only the Xbox that supports it for now.

Please people, don't go the soundbar route. Barely any noticeable Atmos effects. Get yourself a receivers and speakers. Roughly the same price.

True. Bur a lot of time aesthetics and simplicity trump everything else.

I agree that there's no comparison, but the wires are a real sticking point for some. It's ultimately why I ditched my traditional setup, which I loved.

Edit, I hooked up the 9500s to my 800c in living room, in same configuration as displayed in this photo. got it on stands facing me and one facing her, like 2 feet away and it sounds wonderful. should be able the same effect as the rear walls mounting and pointing towards one me and her.

but still curious if this is correct way to do this with my situation.

this is correct, and there are no losses of audio codec processing such as DTS and PCM as there were with previous models and other tvs.

Please, I would love for you to piece together a receiver, wire, sub, and center, center left right, right left, rear left right, height left and right.. all for 730 or less.
I think a lot of people would love to see what you come up with!
