I saw this sitting on the Clearance area at HD for $115 and wondered if it's a good deal at all. I looked it up on their website and it's still being sold for $199. No hack needed. Can someone chime in and let me know pls?

I have two local HD show clearance in brickseek. First one has 10+ however the price is only down to $161. Second one has 1 left at $115. After I picked that one up the brickseek updated to show "Limited Stock". So definitely YMMV.
Thanks op!
A couple in the clearance section for $115 in Terrell, TX. Always ask for an additional discount! I've gotten clearanced tools for an additional 50% off the marked down price.
This is a good idea, as I have gotten additional discounts on other products before as well. Of course, this is always a ymmv kind of thing and depending on who you ask and what kind of mood that person is in...but never hurt to try.

Hey man, posting deals isn't my thing (as I am not great at it) but I'm glad you got in on one.
Sir, although I posted this deal as "an inquiry", it is actually a deal; one that, according to the comments seen here, is not all that bad of a deal. And yes, it is very much a "ymmv" kind of a deal, as all clearance deals tend to be. I did attempt to edit my post immediately after posting to put in a few words, like "no hack needed" and "tool only" (correct spelling on the word Clearance) but no matter how many times I attempted to edit, this app takes me back to the front page...so, after about 6 times, I gave up as my day isn't as free as some. I also looked for an "inquiry" section to post this inquiry but I can't find one. As always with these deal posts, some may love it if they are in need of that tool posted and then there are those like you, don't care for it because you don't need it. But, I'm willing to bet, had you been interested in a barrel grip jigsaw or even any jigsaw, you'd stop by your nearest HD and search the "clearance" end caps looking for this deal. I know personally I have done the same thing when others posted similar type deals. Cheers.
I made those changes to the OP for you, hope you don't mind. Thanks for sharing the deal.
I haven't used brickseek for HD in a while. Mine just shows Clearance without stating the price. But it seems like it shows the price for others? Any thoughts?

From my own experience you will have to check in store. They would be in clearance section but may not have the same clearance price

You could call the particular store and ask him for their price
How do you ask? Just straight up "Can you please discount this half price item even further?"
I'm not an expert but I'll share with you something I used that has often gotten me $50 off, sometimes more, depending on the price and the item. I always ask for the store manager on duty and ask for one that's easy to deal with from any employees you see. Have the manager meet you at the item location. When he/she comes, I greet them with "How are you doing today (John or whatever their name is)? (You can kind of tell by the way they reply if it's gonna be a good day for you or not...lol). Next, I hit them with "Are you in a good mood John? This usually cracks a smile. Then I would ask if they can work with me on the price, since it's a clearance item. I would mostly get a "well, what are you thinking?" kind of reply. Then you shoot them a price or you can say, "what can you do?" I find that when I leave it up to them, I sometimes get a pretty good discount, and if not, then you can counter with an offer that's good for you. Again, I'm no expert but I usually have success doing this. Good luck.
$115 is a good deal, there were half a dozen or so in a clearance end aisle at a Knoxville, TN Home Depot (on Schaad Road). It is certainly the nicest jigsaw I've ever used.
As far as barrel grip versus traditional, it depends on the user and the usage. I like it, seems easier to control. The trigger is not variable speed, but variable speed jigsaws are hard to hold a consistent speed anyway. On the barrel grip, the speed dial is under your little finger.
I got this last time it was slick. Great tool. Read the manual, the tilt mechanism is a bit counterintuitive, it works (actually locks at 90 degrees) quite well once you do the correct sequence. The light is bright and the little built in air blowing mechanism keeps 90+% of the chips out of the cutting line.
