Pay attention with the ports being on the side. My case is older and didn't have an opening to he able to use this properly. Had to return. Just an FYI for anyone looking.
The 80+ ratings don't have anything to do with reliability. Run cooler? Sure by a few watts. Efficiency? Around 2% better than gold rated. And almost unnoticeably quieter, a few watts less waste heat isnt going to make much of a difference when we are talking about 100s of watts of usable power. And the price is actually not bad, the cheaper decent brand name platinum ones start at around $250 for 80+plat. Is the $60 dollar difference worth the minor improvements for 80+ platinum? I personally would say no.

Just want to point out that I have a 4080S and a 5900X and I have plenty of headroom with a puny 750W PSU. yes it's a top tier 750 but still only a 750.
So unless you are planning to run a lot more that what I've described I think it's unlikely you need a 1200W.
1200wā¦but why? Not even a 4090 with latest processor will hit anywhere near that.
Realistically you should calculate real world electrical usage based on the 80% rule so this would be around 960w with is about right for a high end system with multiple components
I own this PSU and its fantastic. I have a 4080 super, 7950X3D, 4 m.2 nvme drives, 2 SSDs, a thunderbolt card and quite a few case RGBs and advanced fans. I plan on upgrading to a 5090 when it is released (to drive my massive 57" Samsung G9). A 1000W would not give me enough headroom for power spikes under a heavy load. Being at or below capacity is not enough. Old logic said you should be ~50% of maximum power draw, but more the more recent rule of thumb is 60-70% power draw. While I agree its overkill for many, definitely not even close to all.
The promo code US-PSU20 works on any full price PSU excluding bundles, so you could get the RM1000x for 20% off for example if you don't need 1200 watts.
The info above is great and that's what I did. The 1200W was overkill for me, so ended up getting the 1000W instead straight from Corsair.

I have this one, put it in a Corsair 5000D case. It was very easy to connect and route the cables. I highly recommend it if your case has the side space.

The best thing about this is how easy and clean it makes cable management. It's a must have for those with OCD like me as this is pure therapy.
