I do have this helmet. I like Scorpion helmets. This is my third or fourth. The price, quality, fit, features, etc align with my needs...YMMV.

I won't bother to mention all the good things about this helmet. Here are the things that I have noted.
- It was killing my ears on multi-day long distance rides. I removed the speaker pocket covers, and all is well now.
- I haven't found any need for the air adjustable fit feature after trying it multiple times. I leave it without any air pressure.
- I normally wear a size large in Scorpions. This helmet is tight in a large. Maybe bordering on too tight. After about 10 full days or more of riding, it's become acceptable.
OP - Thanks for the motorcycle related post; these are always welcome.

I think I have this helmet. If so, I'll come back and post my thoughts.
I love Scorpion, but they've got to be discontinuing these older models that don't meet the new ECE 22.06 specs. They're very good helmets, but higher standards should mean better models are on the horizon.

By the way, I love the adjustable fit air pumps. As your helmet breaks in, you can get some of that original snugness back.

Also, while this is a good deal, these can be had for closer to $330 on the regular. You're saving money, but not really $150.

Way too many, but more importantly I wanted to make sure I had this exact helmet before commenting on it.

You might have been wearing helmets that are too big. What people mean is that, as the removable pads break in, they break down and the helmet gets looser. I've never had that big of a difference either, but there's definitely more room in a broken in helmet. I think I should probably change out the pads over 2 years or so (so pretty much once per helmet, at mid-life).

Regardless, it might be worth getting a shop, like Cycle Gear, to work with you to make sure you're not picking too big a helmet when you buy it. It's tempting and easy to do because a size up generally feels tight enough, but that play extra room can really mess you up in a crash.

Also recommend this with shoes, for anyone that struggles to find comfortable shoes. Once I got properly sized for shoes, shoe shopping went from a full on ordeal to point and click online.
Quote from Saving4Broke :
I've been riding for decades and even I knew this. They're filled with a high density foam and as you "break them in", the foam will compress a little more as it conforms to your head shape. There's also the padding that becomes a little less firm after some use.
Helmets don't add a size after a few months of wear, as the post I was quoting said. Maybe crappy helmets, but not any quality helmet I've ever had. I'm very familiar with helmet break in, padding, cheek pads, EPS liners, etc, and I know exactly what makes and model fit my 7 1/2 head. Soft padding wears, yes, but EPS liners don't. If your soft foam padding wears to the point it's useless, then get rid of your helmet or replace the padding. After my decades of riding, I still haven't had a helmet EVER size itself up after a few months. My current three year old Shoei is still fits nice and snugly.

gsx-s750, fun bike. had a gsxs 1000 naked for a few years, sold it/ bought the 1000gt+. that said, I switched over from bell to shoei rf1200 that a friend had and gave me, and its awesome. it reduced all the wind noise and such.

Dang exactly what i ended up doing went from bell racestars flex to a shoei r1400 mural. That antifog screen that it comes with for the rf1400 is amazing.

Stupid question incoming.

I'm in a harsh winter climate. Walk the dog every day, sunny or blizzard. In the latter, when my breath is taken away by -20F gusts I think to myself, "why don't I wear a full head shield"?

Thoughts on using a helmet as an extreme weather shield? 😅

Helmets aren't built to keep you warm. Even the ones that claim anti fog features will fog up fast at that temp.

Just get a warm balaclava and a warm hat/hood.

Are these overkill for dirt jumper bikes? Need a good helmet for dirt jumping so I'm not the old man at the jump park without a helmet setting bad example

Pinlock is an absolute game changer if you are prone to fogging your visor. I would say it's a 100% damn near requirement for riding in places like Seattle. The hype is true with Pinlock.

Honestly, I'd wait to find a helmet with the new ECE standard. Ruroc Atlas 4.0 has it - and they are always offering deals to make it a lot more palatable on the wallet.

You can find them used, as well. The Atlas 2.0 and 3.0 were pretty terrible, but Ruroc (in my opinion) REALLY listened to the criticism of the earlier models and came out with a really nice model. And they are safer, to boot...

Terrible warranty and customer service from this brand. Avoid.

How so??
It's a five yr warranty, with a US headquarters and distribution center.
The only time I've had warranty trouble from them is my helmets I've had shipped in from Europe. They aren't certified as a US helmet even though the FIM and ece ratings are far better. For liability reasons they can't touch them.
Tell your story though, would like to know.

Anyone know if this is M2020? Can't find any info googling, just says DOT/ECE approved everywhere. Looking for a helmet for HPDE for my teen and they accept SA2020 or M2020. I am using a cheap ass Scorpion EXO-R420 myself which is M2020.

I wonder if this is a problem with all Exo's? My Exo exhibits helmet lift as well. I currently ride an XSR900 and on the highway or higher speeds, definitely have to deal with helmet lift.

It's just naked bikes. I have four streetfighter bikes including my track bike..
I have ridden with scorpion hjc and Arai. All lift and smash the helmet against my face at varying high speeds.
Oddly enough the track bike has a dirtbike plate on the front and nothing else, and it honestly has the least helmet lift and buffeting. The aero design of the helmet actually comes in to play.
My mt09 is the worst, with extremely turbulent air coming up from the speedo and headlight area. My RPHA 11 is rated as one of the quietest sport helmets on the market, and it sounds like a 79$ Walmart helmet on it.
