Definitely M12 Fuel. I have M18 Fuel as well but I use M12 more for its lightweight yet precision.
Looks like I can get the M12 Fuel, hackable with the battery for a little over $100 (return the battery) at Home Depot right now, going to do that, thanks everyone, I repped ya all!

What type of jobs does one use this tool for? Is it like a dremel?

For my use I prefer this one. The M18 Fuel version cuts fast and has great vibration control, but with that comes a lack in precision. The anti vibration head introduces a lot of play and makes it sloppy in certain cases. It also has this annoying auto shut off which I suppose is to keep it from over heating, but i couldn't use it continuously without it shutting off over and over. I returned it and the new one did the same thing.

This version (the non fuel) has been perfect. I do prefer the speed control location on the Fuel version though, I'm always hitting it on this one. I haven't tried the M12 yet nor the DeWalt. My first Ryobi was awesome but my newer one couldn't handle the abuse.

Not bad for $99

But it is not the fuel version and the included battery is undersized for this tool.

I am interested in getting an oscillating tool but the only battery network I have is Bosch and it's the 12 volt. From what I have read the Bosch oscillating tool 12v is pretty meh. Can anyone give some advice on their opinion. I was thinking Dewalt or Milwaukee if they came w/ battery and charger but interested in hearing input. Thanks.

Happend to use this tool last weekend to quickly custom fit/cut some blue board drywall around plumbing pipes in a 100 year old commercial building bathroom. I can imagine for someone who DIYs a lot more than I do there tons of random uses. I'm sure there are plenty of better tools a professional would use but it got the job done.

Don't bother with the non-fuel version of this tool. It is loud and weak, even for a homeowner. Get an m12 fuel if you can afford it over this. If you can't afford it, get a plug in whatever from HF.
