Why buy a mediocre TV when the LG C3 OLED 77" on sale at your local Samsclub. Only in store . Message me to find the specific location . Alabama . Clearance 1999.00 with free 5 year Allstate warranty. 7 of them . It was 8 . Got one for myself yesterday Wink

What a stupid comparison. No one said it's an OLED. It has 68% more screen area than a 77" TV. A lot of us need the bigger size cos I sit 15ft away. Plus this gets much brighter than the c3 for those of us who have bright lit rooms…

I've had this for 5 months now. Omg I love it. First, the cons. 1) It's bl**dy enormous. The box did not fit up my stairs and had to be unboxed. Took 4 men to carefully take it up one flight of stairs. If you're thinking of buying this, ensure you lookup the LBH online and ensure it will fit your doors and stairs. Also, dude to the size, installation was a nightmare for me cos I bought it through Amazon and not BB. The guy charged me an extra $50 cos it's more than 85". Also, I had to buy a new mount with a 300lb limit cos my older mount topped out at 176lbs. I wanted to keep a nice big buffer and also future proof for 115" and 140" TVs. 2) upscaling is not great. The claim to have a semi decent processor but, it doesn't do a great job. In built apps do an "ok" job. I suggest buying an nVidia Shield and let it take care of upscaling.
Pros now. 1) great price to performance ratio. I got it for 2999 and was so nervous about how it would perform. It did a lot better than my expectations. 2) calibration is a bit off out of the box. Get your settings from rtings and stick to it. 3) thick? This is quite thick when compared to other TVs. 4) if I'm nitpicking, bezel is slightly wider than I hoped. 5) only 2 4K/120 ports is annoying cos I have an older 4k/60 receiver. 6) if you watch at a higher brightness, it does get quite warm.

I definitely recommend it for 3k. Although CES had a few 115" and 140" TVs whose pricing is yet to be released….

Agreed, but most people with this big of a TV aren't using the apps anyway so that doesn't matter. They'll have an Apple TV or console or some other player so it's mostly a non-issue.

Can't comment on this size model. However I did purchase the 65" model of this series. Hisense has really made some positive forward progress on both quality and features and this U8k line is a great example of this. For those who are fearful if Oled burn in this is as close to Oled like as you are going to get and 1500nits of brightness that has excellent HDR performance it's really making an allready competitive market even better. I feel like as a brand Hisense has for me has been a great experience. Implementing a full game hub to their U7 and U8 lines has really shown they can compete in that market along companies whose offerings are 3x the price while offering 144hz panels and the list goes on. I bought a U7g 75 inch 2 years ago. Great TV. No Apple air play and was an android os. Next I bought a 55 inch U7H and this was when they made the switch to Google O.S. This also gave us Apple airplay which was great. Both those tvs have been awesome. 1500 nits peak brightness is really bright. Now here we are in 2024 and I was looking to really step up my pc gaming monitors since I upgraded to a 4080 super and felt like I wanted to get into 4k gaming having used 1440p for so long. I looked at pc monitors and I've had quite a few but never really felt like any of them were big enough. Tried ultrawides up to 40 inches. Tried Triple 27s. Too wide and narrow. Framerates get nerfed when in surround mode. Then I started looking at other options. That brought me back to Hisense and the U8K. I could have gotten the U7K in a 75inch mode for the same price as a a 65inch U8K but for my use case and the fact that there was nothing wrong with my U7G in the living room I didn't need that again. 65 was as big as I realistically wanted to go. So a Trip to Best Buy and now several weeks later I can attest that this was the perfect choice from me. I am now using a 65" Hisense TV as a pc monitor. 144hz at 4k through hdmi port 4 and capable of setting at 1080p 240hz which is freaking mind blowing. I honestly can't tell any difference in response to my 0.5ms high refresh panels and this. Vrr works. It plays nice with gsync enabled through control panel. I bought the $50.00 wall mount from Harbor Freight for it. My desk is built against a wall that has a 18 degree angle and that's exactly how I mounted the tv. Bottom sits flush with the desk and just about 10" away from the wall so ventilation and cable management us a breeze. This is also a tv so all the usual apps are right there. Blue tooth was really quick and easy to pair with my AVR so no having to use cables or earc. You would think sitting this close to a tv. About 2ft from the edge of the deskat the bottom and the forward angle has the top resting far enough to me that I can comfortably view my games and content without eyestrain or fatigue. It's not blurry and text looks crisp using 100% scaling at 144hz 4k.with HDR enabled. Did I mention it's freaking bright. I've watched a movie on it. Looked great. The built in sub and speakers aren't bad but I still use a pair of Klipsch RP600m and R12sw sub. I like to feel my games. I literally couldn't fit a 100 inch TV in my living space. All said though if I could I would. If anyone wants to know if longevity in this brand is good or not I can say I now own 3 tvs from Hisense and they are still up and running. Wifi works well Bluetooth works. Gaming in Xbox PS5 or PC is really good. I don't have any input lag that I can notice and at my main pc rig I have support for any game new or old at 16x9 ratio at 4k res. I can actually see every detail. Just my story. Hisense is a solid brand and I reccomend their U7 and U8 models to anyone who wants a great movie and gaming with HDR experience.

Agreed but please, for the love of god, use the return key every once in awhile to make paragraphs 😅

Says who...you?

Live antenna TV, Streaming and Apps all in one interface.
The Samsung TV's are fabulous: Bedroom 55", Family Room 86", Office 32", Patio 42".

Have a Roku on the Theater Projector 120"and Pool TV 65"...It's more cumbersome and seems clunky. shake head
