I actually own this unit and for this price I dont know anything on the market that touches it for home theater applications
I suggest you read the AVS forum thread from actual owners who have set this up and know the tips and tricks specific to this Onkyo
Each brand seems to have implement Dirac a bit differently..IMO..the Onkyo is a simplified set up of Dirac
In. Been waiting for a price point on this or the tx-nr7100 for months. Have had 5.1.4 speakers going into an old LG dvd/receiver that whole time. Finally get to open it up.

Someone was asking a question you'll say it next to the review where the stars are they asked why did they buy The Onkyo and is it a good unit. And a ton of people responded to the question of how much they love it been waiting for it a long time Best on the market for the price just continues of great things said about it I really wish I had the money for it cuz I would definitely buy this.
Agree there really isn't much to change/add to this that you already get on the RZ70 to make it worthwhile.
Pre outs negate the extra power, nobody sees the benefit of DLBC especially for the cost, people rave about the DACs of the RZ70 and you often read how people claim "99%" of people would be very satisfied with this.

Different sound signatures maybe? Onkyo bright vs Pioneer warm

Since Dirac Live relies on the AVR for bass management, that may be an issue for some.
