I still prefer OLED. My puny LG 48" OLED is a beautiful TV set tho. I wish I had a 55 or 65 but right now we don't have the space.
If you care most about the quality of the picture, look at the Samsung and LG OLED deals, this MiniLED seems like a great deal overall though.
Not always. Mini LED is always better than OLED in a bright sunny living room. If you want to watch TV during the day and not having to close all your blinds, mini-LED TVs are much better at full screen brightness. OLEDs have aggressive ABL and high brightness makes burn in worse.
That's the technology that the panel is using not the panel type. You typically want a VA panel for better contrast, but IPS panels are typically better at off angle viewing. Contrast levels are worse on IPS panels. If you're viewing your TV directly in front of you, you'll want a VA panel.
We'll have to wait for the RTINGS review to see which panel type is being used.
I was able to fix it by replacing the LEDs but this was a project and a half. Before buying an LG LED TV I would make sure they resolved this issue with the LEDs not burning out but "burning blue". Just my 2c.
Until projectors can be used in a bright room, I'd take a a smaller TV over projector.
Projectors also get quite hot and use a lot of electricity compared to a mini LED or OLED TV, right? This was my last experience with a 1080P projector.

Edit - it seems this may be an IPS panel while the 65 and 75 versions are VA... Unfortunately this model is so new that there's very little independent testing or information available...

I pulled the trigger despite people on reddit saying to avoid LG 4K mini-LEDs. I suspect previous years had issues with the IPS panels but seems this one is VA so may fix many of the previous complaints... That said, it'll get returned pretty quickly if it doesn't pass my testing.

I am very close to pulling the trigger on this.
Either of them is a much better choice than the crappy, cheap panels most people buy without knowing any better.

Basically says that for 2024 the 65" and 75" QNED90T models will get VA panels, but the 86" will sink back to IPS... Though they seem to imply some territories may have differing versions.
