If you are debating which iPad, here is a quick comparison with the latest deals:

1. iPad Air 2022 : $399 (this deal)

2. iPad Air 2024: $549 (with Apple EDU, no verification needed). Offers the following improvements:
- Processor: M1 --> M2
- Storage: 64GB --> 128GB

3. iPad Pro 4th gen (2022): Same as iPad Air 2024, with the following additional improvements:
- Display Refresh Rate: 60hz to 120hz and display is marginally larger (3% difference)
- Cameras: Two optical cameras instead of 1 + Lidar Camera
- Face Id instead of Touch ID
The new m2 model can't possibly be that much better right
Honestly I like my old iPad but for some reason it started getting slow and I don't think this is my perception. I'm talking here about watching YouTube and browsing Safari at the same time. So no, it's not like very slow but it annoys me when I switch tabs and websites take forever to load while watching videos. I still recommend everyone the 9th but it is not good for multitasking imo. I think the whole performance is related to battery health and my battery is in really bad condition.

64GB? Get outta here. 128GB needs to be the bare minimum in 2024. If you must do this, get the newer M2/128 model for $550 w Apple edu

tried price matching with a few different agents at best buy as well as in store- nobody could do it now. all of them said the system tells them the price is too low

I got two for family members. It's probably over-spec for them but I hope they get longer iOS support/upgrade with 8GB RAM and M1.

The only thing for me is the repositioned camera. I use my ipad for TEAMS/Zoom meetings almost daily. I prefer the center/landscape camera. Outside of that, no, I don't think so.

Agree. $150 for double storage, M2, better camera placement is worth it to me.

Target will price match Walmart/Amazon. If you have red card, it is even better.

For any casual user, at~$380 with redcard, hard to justify the difference in price versus the sweet $629 iPad pro deal from microcenter. (If don't need storage, 120hz, thunderbolt, stage manager ).

Yup, I was able to get Target to match as well.

Agree with your 2nd point. All of the ppl pointing others away bc of the storage aren't considering the large group of people that use their iPad for casual purposes like web browsing, media streaming, etc. Not worth paying an additional $150 if that's your use case.

Also, stage manager works on this iPad.

I have an 8th gen iPad 32gb that I'm thinking of selling to upgrade to this. I mostly just watch shows on it during flights. Is it worth upgrading to this?

Gamut i guess vs rgb . Better processor. Is this worth 50 more dollars for a casual user? I dont know much about ipads, but what is processor intensive on them?
Just a leading product category for 14 years. How do you not know much about them?

Probably not worth it with your use case. Does yours still support the latest OS? If not then it might be worth it, but being one version behind is probably still ok. You'll be fine watching movies on your old iPad until the airline app requires an update that is not compatible with older OS.

Yes. I am this person as is everyone in my family. I have actual computers for all the things requiring more power.

Only place for my family where more storage would be nice is on longer airplane rides or being on a cruise ship with no internet. Being able to download movies/shows for the kids is nice in those situations. 64 GB should be ok, but if you want to keep more shows on hand it can be tight. My kids currently have a mix of 32 GB and 128 GB iPads of older vintage. 32 is definitely not enough for anything but web browsing or online video consumption. 128 is comfortable. That said, I ordered 3 of the 64 GB Airs to replace the aging iPads. Now I'm somewhat wondering if I should return them and wait for the back to school sale that might drop the new 128 GB air to 450 after gift card offer (if it's same as last year). I'd have to shell out more for the newer pencil though, as my kids like to draw and the 2nd gen pencil is $40 cheaper right now, plus amazon prime card cash back equalling about $25 I'm looking at a little over $100 difference if the back to school deal happens as expected. Not sure it's worth it to wait though.

I was stuck debating this and went for the new one for the same reason. it's for my son and with long plane flights and downloaded movies, 64gb doesn't cut it. the 128gb m2 with edu discount was still less then the m1 256gb version
