If not save the $300 and wait for the 7100 to go to $549 again.
FYI here is the extremely helpful video from a renowned AV Professional(AA) who worked directly with Dirac for key tips & tricks!
This is the video to follow to maximize your Dirac Live RC, it applies to ANY Dirac Live capable AVR!

The only thing it didnt have that I wanted was Auro3D, but I did all the research before buying it was the only item in this price point (original MSRP) that had things like HDMI 2.1, iDRAC, solid amplification, pre-outs, etc.
At this price its a steal.
I consider the A6A a downgrade, and it was actually the A8A that I was comparing it against, and it has its own large negative press and comunity feedback.
So take that for what its worth, the only thing I have considered upgrading to from here is a full high end pre-pro but I have not found one good enough yet to justify the upgrade.
According to the audio science reviews (they use objective tests) the 4800 is recommended, while the 3800 falls short. in fact, the 3800 is a downgrade from the 3700.
Also, the 4700 is the same form factor (big and heavy) as the 6700, which means better heat sinks, better build quality. The 3k series is not.

Depends on what you're trying to improve what features are important to you.
This has many features the 1600 doesn't.
Thee biggest feature everyone is after with this is Dirac Live.
If that's the case for you, you're better off waiting for the 7100 to come back for $549, saves you $300.

From what I gathered a6a has more power, higher resolution DAC, auro 3d and no power limiting features (RZ50 has these restrictions). This is leaving reliability aside.
I am not sure about RZ50 specifically but from what I read, Onkyo typically can not set individual crossover for all the channels.

I know Memorial Day sales start next week, but since everyone else has this at over $1,000 right now, I'm fairly confident it won't go too much lower that soon.
Dirac Live Full Bandwidth included is what attracted me to this device in the first place.
