Got this lens about 3 months ago and loving it. Did a ton of research and went with this over the tamron. No regrets.

I've had this lens probably 3 years now and it has been really incredible and really love the images I've gotten from it (I'm a prime guy and this definitely bridges the gap). Heavier, but the build quality is significantly better than the Tamron at similar price. I'm tempted to buy this for my at home setup for this price.

I got an offer of 799 with 2 days left(offered 749). Thinking if i should wait it out till the last few hours or just take it now.

Update: item shipped got tracking. Settled with 799

I went with Tamron for $599 at Greentoe - loved the 1st version hopefully a bit sharper on 2nd version. Will probably switch to Sigma II in a year.

certain reviews say it was addressed in later version. Who knows which version we will get.

However, i think the v2 is much better than v1 for another $100-200 more. Need to wait for that deal
