I've had this lens probably 3 years now and it has been really incredible and really love the images I've gotten from it (I'm a prime guy and this definitely bridges the gap). Heavier, but the build quality is significantly better than the Tamron at similar price. I'm tempted to buy this for my at home setup for this price.

Other than that, the Sigma is more expensive, heavier, larger, and seems to have a better built and a nicer bokeh / out-of-focus rendering.

Update: item shipped got tracking. Settled with 799
However, i think the v2 is much better than v1 for another $100-200 more. Need to wait for that deal
