Know this if you buy it
Pros: Very affordable (especially if you get the $50 off from AMEX offer) , upgradable ram (I upgraded to 16gb myself, but you can do more than that), upgrading your ram will also upgrade your graphics to Iris XE graphics, sound is decent for normal viewing, display is decent for everyday use.
Cons: Battery lasts 2-4 hours so keep the charger around, NO USB-C , build quality of the keyboard area is very flexible and will cause your trackpad to click when you grab it by the corner, no backlit keyboard, no privacy shutter for webcam, hdmi output is only 60hz so even though your native display is 120hz, you can't hit that on your external. Wifi -5 (not 6 or 6e). I believe there is a known hinge problem flaw, which I have yet to experience but has seen posts about it. Memory is DDR4 2600mhz.

This price is without the usual 10% sign-up coupon. Between that and a well timed CB and $50 amex offer AND downgrading to 1215u, you could potentially get this below $200 (a lot of people did last year around Thanksgiving).

I got the i-3 version for 280 a little bit ago. It works pretty well. I threw in an extra 8gb ram stick and got a 1 tb NVME I'll eventually use to upgrade the storage. I'm confused about what you said regarding the Iris XE graphics. Did you mean upgrading the ram on Dell's site or are you saying the UHD graphics respond better to more ram, even aftermarket?
For anyone else: the battery life is definitely serviceable. I'm pleasantly surprised with this laptop, I use it pretty often to run windows software (more of a Mac guy), stepmania, and web browsing. It does everything well, just the screen sucks and the HDMI out is gimped at 1.4 so I wouldn't game anything competitive on it. Oh and the hinge is like designed to fail, it opens underneath against the desk so I open it in the air or raised on a fan cooler to not put pressure on it. Weird design choice.

Great deal if you can swing that! Otherwise, I have both the 3-series and the 5-series, and there's no comparison in quality. And the versatile usb-c port on the 5-series is great for travel.

No, two upgradable slots.
