For people who already have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and are looking to extend their subscription, this deal works out to about $4/month. But it requires using an India VPN.
Details:
- Buy Xbox Game Pass Core 6 Months India. It's currently $11.10 after fees from Eneba (scroll down on page for cheapest prices). You do not need to use VPN for this step.
- Then turn on your India VPN. One free and easy option is using Urban VPN.
- With your VPN on, get the code that was emailed to you, and enter it at redeem.microsoft.com.
- Microsoft will tell you that it's converting the 6 months of Core to 81 days of Ultimate. That's a pretty terrible conversion, but given the prices, this works out to 14 cents per day or ~$4 per month, which is a great deal for existing Ultimate members. If you don't currently have Ultimate, there are better deals with better conversion rates.
- Can buy multiple codes, which each redeem for 81 days of Ultimate. Microsoft will let you stack these until it reaches 3 years.

If you're using TorGuard VPN, the Mumbai server will not work (apparently Microsoft knows their IP addresses). You'll get the "purchased in a different region from your account" error. However, the Bangalore server works perfectly.
Some other VPNs may also have the same issue. The "purchased in a different region from your account" error typically means you should try connecting to a different city in India or try using a different VPN. It does not mean that you should change your XBox account's region from the US to India, this is never required.

You can get most games cheaper on Xbox thanks to VPN, Sony doesn't do codes for most games (system bundles are one of the few exceptions) shoot I can get many Xbox games cheaper than I can steam codes, which is kinda impressive. But adding fast storage to Xbox is where you get kicked in the pants this gen.

Yeah you should be able to do 3 years from today. I know my sub was supposed to end next March but I added over 2 years more and it's now May 2027.
