Have been on the fence ablut this one for a few months. The reviews keep scaring me away.
I have this monitor and I'll say two things - it's big. Like really big, so make sure you have space for it, and the second is that the out of the box colors are awful. You can download a profile from Rtings and do some searching for calibration videos on YouTube. With minor calibrating, it's amazing, but I was really disappointed at first.

I've been very happy with mine. Res is great, it's super bright, versatile. Some of the "smart" features are goofy but you can essentially ignore them. It was between this or a C3 and I went with this because I didn't want to worry about burn-in which due to my job is a very real probability.

WARNING: this is a VA panel, so the contrast ratio is great, but the ghosting is awful and very noticeable for gaming—especially if you're coming from IPS. I believe that's why this monitor goes on such a deep discount so often. I ended up returning mine. Check out Monitors Unboxed's YT review for more info.

I strongly believe you have never tried this monitor. Samsung VA with MiniLED has none of the traditional VA negatives that you are referring to.

Pretty ignorant comment.

The downsides are that it has poor QC so it's a gamble if you have a good or bad monitor

You're right, perhaps I wasn't specific enough.
I'm sure that's true for the other Odyssey models, but the 43" in particular seems to have issues. You can find similar mixed sentiment in other Slickdeals posts about this monitor.

The picture quality is excellent but I was seeing trails with anything moving 60+ fps

Also…it's not like I have any incentive to hate on this monitor. I just felt strongly enough that I wanted to inform others about the somewhat misleading marketing.

I'm also seeing $380. Can also get 10% cb with a quick search.
Btw, I was seeing $380 via the app but it jumped up to $400 when I viewed via the website.

Carefully consider your current GPU's capabilities if you're considering actually using this for gaming. 4k/144Hz .. your old 1070 ain't gonna cut it. Plan to spend at least another $1100.

Can anyone comment on input lag? Some reviewers said this monitor has bad input lag.
