Amazon should be ashamed of themselves. This is like regular price, nothing special about it. They used to do better deals around Prime Day. What a bust.

Here are some use case scenarios for a streaming device.

The Hisense h9g used faulty memory that caused the main board to fail if too many writes occured. The best way to prevent this was to disable the internet, not use on board apps and use a streaming device.

For the Samsung s90b, the company apparently sent out firmware updates that lowered the brightness of the TV. So to prevent an update for those who did not receive it, you would keep the TV off the internet, unable to use onboard apps, so you need a third party device.

I have an s90c that I do not want nerfed, so I use a fire stick on it and others on avs forums do the same with other streaming devices. I also have 2 h9gs that I keep off the internet.

I use a streaming device on my ust projector, the on board apps are laggy compared to a streaming device.

Another use case is that Samsung store does not have a larger app library compared to Google or the TV is not able to run certain apps.

I use an onn streaming box on one of my TV's that has Google TV on it. I can run emulators up to Dreamcast with the onn box, my TV is not able to do that.

There's also traveling, I take a Roku or Firestick to use in hotels, usually works but on some TVs the HDMI port is not reachable.

Also the Smart TV interface quality varies, the Firestick or Roku is often better.

Our VPN often doesn't work on Roku's, things like HBO are still blocked - I think the Rokus are ratting us out to the streaming sites. Can't explain why it works on everything but the Rokus.

I've had no bad experience with Firestick and Plex.
I don't have issue with any other firestick other than the MAX, most of my house is covered with 4k sticks, but this MAX just disappointed me. Someone mentioned try public from private. I'll check my settings, but so far I've tried a lot of things, which I shouldn't have to consider this is the first time I've had issues with plex streaming on a firestick. As for the cube just needs a daily restart, doesn't matter which version.

Factory reset would suck, but might not be a bad idea. I stream my ripped blu-rays (so 35 Mbps) to the Max, no problem. I ponder if the Max and your Router are having compatibility issues.

Already factory reset the device and the router as well. I did recently upgrade myself to 6E network and havent retested, but like I said I have no issues with my firestick 4ks or cubes (other than restarting the cubes), just this max stick hasn't been playing nice with plex. I'll try the max again its in my garage now with my exercise tv, see how it does, but so far been pissing me off.

I just purchased the 4K for 29.99 at Kohl's so not much of a deal. I also have the 4K max and I don't think it has 16GB of storage. I have a couple apps installed and always getting storage notifications unless this is an updated 4K max

Clutch! It's been 2 days and I still have yet to find my remote. I didn't know it was possible to use a different remote. Is the process for pairing different?
I lost mine and just use the fire tv app on my phone or the TV remote, which does most of the same things.

Same, the 4k max awesome, just with they would add an ethernet port, but guess if they did, no one will get the cube. Yes you can get an adopter but at an extra cost
I bought an ethernet adapter, but since it has a microusb port, it is limited to 10/100 speed, even with a gigabit usb adapter. If you're going to use it to play large 4k remux files over kodi or plex, it will stutter for sure.

Cable Matters Micro USB to Ethernet Adapter Up to 480Mbps for Streaming Sticks Including Chromecast, Google Home Mini and More - Not Compatible with Roku Device https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N2ZHFY9

I have this one. I get 300+ on my gigabit internet.

According to the camels, the last time the 4K stick dropped to $25 was mid-November. The majority of the time since then it's been on sale for $30.
I believe Amazon has bought out the camel site for a while now. So I would take everything with a grain of salt.

Roku does Paramount & Vudu., Amazon stuff not compatible with them. I needed to put Roku on all my Amazon tvs.

I could not find any evidence of this. Got proof?
