I'm a huge FF fan. From all the way back to 1992 FFIV on the snes. I have bought FF6 probably 10 times for every device, and FF7 about the same.

All that said, I could not force myself through this game. It doesn't feel like a final fantasy at all. You control one character. It's more devil my cry than anything that's come before. If you enjoy game of thrones / house of the dragon, you'll probably like the story here.

But for me, I got bored and replaced it with FF7 Rebirth, which is way better (and on sale!)

I love this game and have played all final fantasy games. Story is great. Alot of Side quest. Took me around 55 hours to finish. Played it on 30fps cause 60fps graphic looks blurry

This game is fricken sweet . Side quests are horrible but the main game is really fun . I know final fantasy fans have problems with this game . I myself do not like the final fantasy remake but loved this one . It's really like a simplified Devil May cry game set in a medieval-ish world.

I love this game but FF7 rebirth. Is on another league. Took me 84hrs and seems like i only did 50%. Production value on this game is incredible. Seems like a game that took 10 years to make

Highly addicting combat and story. Completed it in about 40 hours and plan on doing the game plus at some point. First FF game too so absolute steal at $28!

Yep. This is Final Fantasy in name only. It doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy at all. Final Fantasies always have unique characters, and a magical feel to them. This had the most bland, generic characters in a long time, and just such a drab world. Clive is so boring. Not to mention his name is Clive. Jill is the most bland chambermaid-like girl. Cid was ok. The rest of them were very forgettable. I really hope they get back to the feeling of a true FF game. 7 Remake and Rebirth don't count, since the story, world and characters already existed and they just needed to tweak it.

I have no loyalty to the Final Fantasy series insofar as much as I am fine with major changes. A title is just that, a title, so I am always open to any changes they want to make. I was all in on the new direction, but wow is the game so much more on rails than it seems it should be at first, you can sleep through the entirety of the story and realize you picked it all up by the end anyways. As a game, it just wasn't very fun and the combat was either button mashing set pieces or a combo of two or three basic attack patterns throughout.

As a game it is just bland and linear in the same hallway like design that plagued FFXIII.

The people raving about this game always have the same things to say, and they are always shallow surface level statements.

I have only in my life traded in a game that quick one other time and that was Demons Souls and I'm not proud of myself for that one.

This? I will never regret taking it back.

But then you need to save 60 dollars elsewhere to get a basic costco membership to get the hot dog combo? Or can a joe off the street get it without a membership? Otherwise i dont mind having paid the extra 1.50 for my ffxvi copy. Btw, my friend gave me the cloth map from his ffxvi deluxe copy... That cloth map can double as a nice dinner cloth napkin for when having a hotdog with extra ketchup and mustard!
