I am trying understand your method.
You placed order for pick up on phone with activation on verizon $65 plan with activation in store and trade in (iphone 11 black).
You went in store, traded the device and activated the line.
Came home and with verizon online chat cancelled the line.
So you avoided the postpaid plan changes and activation charges.

Please confirm if this is correct. Did I miss something?
Thanks
i would like to know the same

See attachments. The phone comes unlocked whether you sign up with a carrier or not. I haven't activated the Verizon SIM that comes attached to the phone box. So nothing charged from Verizon yet.
@hpham - was this your process as well?

Can you specify a lil more detail to what you did because best buy showing only I phone 11 T-Mobile (black) trade in?
Simplest thing is to avoid any issues.

Try to do these deals in store in person so you have over your immediately and get the discount . Get the new phone right away.

Once phone is accepted, no issues no tension

Do you already have Verizon? As part of the purchase you would have had to sign up for a new line isn't it? When it makes you sign up it says the first bill would have activation fee and the first month charges. Verizon would take your SSN, make you sign up for a new account and new line etc.

Once you asked for cancel it will waive the activation fee (within the first 3 days iirc) and maybe charge for 1 day of service?

Has anyone done a trade in like this fully online? If so, is there anything I should know?

Well, I got from Metro two iphone11's and one iPhone12. I had every intention to keep the i12 for my use because sometimes it would be nice to have an iPhone (Tracfone currently will support eSIM on iPhones only (12 and later), there are some movie deals that are available only from Apple, the Tracfone iOS app can do some things that the Android version can't, etc). But tried as I did, I just didn't like the way Apple controls everything and the ways they do things. Even loading MP3 files that I ripped from the original CDs that I bought to the i12 was a real pain. Some of the Android apps that I use frequently are not available on iOS or are not free. I finally gave up.

Also worth mentioning that early leaks of performance testing don't show a whole lot of performance gain between the Tensor G3 in the pixel 8 and the Tensor G4 in the pixel 9.

And the real big rumor is that Google will be going back to TSMC as the Manufacturer for the Tensor 5 chip in the Pixel 10. It might be worth buying a cheap pixel 8 for now, and just skipping the 9 completely.

Does this mean they are going to fix the shit modem in the current pixels? That's why I've held off buying

Still good but you are still paying close to $350 after taxes. The pixel 7a deal was close to $250 after tax. I bought open box excellent for a little over 200 after tax
How are you paying close to $350 after taxes?

Yes, once they finally dump the exynos chips the reliability will go way up.

No. As an avid pixel user I just jumped ship. Their tensor chips are mediocre compared to snapdragon chips. I get way better signal quality on my new OnePlus 12 but I do miss the pixel camera.
I've used OnePlus in the past(OnePlus 3t specifically) and have loved it. I'm unsure about the new colorOS, always like stock Android. Is the colorOS trash?

honestly Google should have sticked with snapdragon chips, why move to tensor. Or at least make 2 different models, one with tensor one with snapdragon
