Love mine!!! Absolute beast of a machine (both in power and size). If you do casual computer work, it's a good desktop replacement. I still think Windows is not the best OS for this form factor, but can play almost everything that SteamOS can't.

8 inch screen is much easier on the eyes for long sessions. and much better for games like Diablo 4 where reading item stats on a 7 inch screen is a huge pain in the ass

Sounds like a bunch of you have both and think the SD is better - I have a SteamDeck (original screen) and am intrigued by the form factor (detachable controllers sounds awesome, I have lots of work related wrist pain) of this and interested in the bigger screen after struggling with Baldur's Gate 3 on the little screen.

Would this be different enough to satisfy? I'm also idly considering a gaming laptop, but feel like this would get more use.

I sold my LCD Steam Deck 2 days after getting this. Bigger screen is way easier on the eyes. Would recommend the 3D printed comfort grips for hand comfort. This is heavy but the Steam Deck wasn't comfortable to hold for prolonged periods either.

Is it possible to buy a laptop of this size with similar specifications? I would love a small powerful windows machine but I don't care for the Nintendo-esque form factor

The closest things would probably be the GPD Win Mini 2024 (7") or GPD Win Max 2 (10.1").

No one mentioned an integrated kick stand as one of the nice features of LeGo. I found an additional use for it, when I open it while sitting holding in hands and rest the kick stand on my knee - helps with weight fatigue.

I wish Lenovo releases a case that would make it like a laptop. Since the Go has a builtin kickstand, I just use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. There are also keyboards with builtin touchpads.

Other than lack of expandability, any reason not to get this over a mini PC?

But you can expand it. That's why I got the 512GB and will later replace with a 2TB.

Good deal. Same price for Plus members at Best Buy ($599 otherwise). I bought one along with the Ally and ended up returning this. I absolutely LOVE my Ally and ended up keeping it primarily because the dpad is so much better for fighting games and it's lighter. The Go is fantastic, although the weight/thickness made my gaming sessions on it shorter. The kickstand is nice, but the dpad is horrible for anything other than menu navigation etc unless you really like that flat and flush clicky style. I'd highly recommend checking both out at Best Buy if you can.

Can't with the RAM, though I don't think that's a huge deal these says - NVME/swap files... I'm a boring lawyer more than gamer. :-)

I love mine. Bought it for a similar price a few months back. Sold my 16 inch razer for this. Honestly I wish I used it more often but usually only use it when traveling.

These new handhelds are getting me super close to ditching the steam deck, but not quite there yet. Im also not a huge fan of running a windows OS in a handheld. With steam OS and heroic launcher I haven't had any issues wanting to play any games im interested in.

Got one from BBY (same price), used $230 rewards from last month (expiring soon). Great deal!

Only thing steamdeck has over the legion go is SteamOS. If you install bazzite to the legion go. You'll get the steamos experience with the hardware of the legion go. IMO best of both world.

As for the detachable controller concept, it is okay, but that controller sucks. the dead zone of them sticks were a deal breaker for me. Unless you want to sit there and map buttons for every game you play. fps mode is a joke.
