I've since switched to Denon and never looked back. Much, MUCH better customer service (on the few minor things I've needed to call for) and all around just a better product with better logic for menus and such. My crown jewel is the Denon AVR-X4700H. I paid a lot more than this receiver, and it's not really a comparison, but I can't imagine paying nearly $1800 for an Onkyo after that fiasco.
I understand, shi.... err, stuff happens. But how a company handles it when it does matters. I don't feel Onkyo handled it in the best way. I'm actually surprised they're still in business.
It cost you $20 and can very much give you Dirac performance!
This relies on the AVR for bass management, don't lose it with the 4700.
The 4700 also has independent sub outs, this has parallel/mono ones.
1) Replaces 7100
2) Gets 2 discrete SW channels
3) Capable of DLBC out of the box!
4) Full set of pre-outs (like current Integra DRX3.4)

"With a Dirac Live Room Correction Full Bandwidth license included right out of the box – and optional upgrade available for Single/Multi Bass Control".
I laugh when folks say "who cares about Dirac bass management when we can just set the crossover in the AVR"! Apparently it's important enough to include the hardware to make it so (for 2024 RZ models) and promise a firmware update for AVRs like the RZ50.

Not sure why I'd want parallel/mono sub outs vs independent ones. I'm running a 5.2.4 setup now and the bass sounds great to me.

Funnier is when it's pointed out in Dirac's ONLY user manual that's all DLBM does over DL and the only response is "that doesn't count!!!) 🤪
Apparently that is enough for DLBC to "not be required" especially if you only have "one" sub!!! 😂
Hmmmm you're comparing this to the RZ50/7100/3.4 because of DLBC!!!!!🤔
I'm pretty sure that means people talk about DLBC regarding "every other Dirac-capable Voxx product"! 🤔
Why did you highlight DLBC with this receiver, especially if you're claiming this will include DLBM "out of the box"!?

That's why people always compare it to Dirac, it's comparable.
I brought up Dirac because the main reason this is so popular is Dirac.
People like to say it's head and shoulders better than XT32.
Having both on my AVR and compared them, that's overly exaggerated.
Imo what sets Dirac a little better is their DLBC room correction.
The A1EVO script can pretty match Dirac Live especially since DL(AND DLBM) rely on the AVR for bass management!
You don't want parallel/mono sub outs especially when you have 2 or more subs.
The Sub EQ HT on the 4700 harmonizes/integrates your sub then into your system. With Dirac you need DLBC to do that automatically, DL/DLBM will not.
If you're satisfied/happy, that's all that counts.
Ignore all this silly you're "missing" something and enjoy imo! 👍🏻

Years ago I had an issue with a Denon 4308 that they tried to fix twice and then bought back
A few months ago i had an issue with a Marantz 7015 that I sent to their service center( Panurgy) to be repaired. It came back broken
After numerous weeks of back and forth they replaced the Marantz 7015 with another unit
About the same time as I owned the Denon 4308, years ago,..I also owned an Onkyo 875 which had a failed HDMI board. Onkyo replaced the board under warranty with no issue
This was actually one that we tested against the Denon 4308 and the Onkyo was the easy winner in the amp/power supply section .
I also had a Denon 4520 that was sent in for a warranty repair
I have not been impressed with Denon/Marantz customer service( or Samsung television) for products that I have owned

Using the Onkyo RZ50 against the Marantz 7015 that I both personally own and have for quite a while
Its the Onkyo with Dirac day all day long over Audyssey XT32 in the Marantz
Better sound separation, better steering and small nuances of sound using Dirac on the RZ50
And none of that incessant tweaking I used to do all the time with Audyssey where I thought it sounded good..then I listen to something else and change my mind and tweak it again...
I used to own 4 Audyseey XT32 equipped products. I have gotten rid of three of them. I am down to 1 and using Diarc on the other 3 units

Wow shocker! 🤣
You don't think Dirac was hoping the RZ50 was DLBC compatible to collect additional license fees?

LOL wait for what!
Almost everyone in here believes what you do about DLBC, it's not required(a benefit) for them!
TBH this kinda screws people like you & RZ50 owners!
You could have gotten DLBC $50 less now and much less back in January on the 30% sale!
I'm not sure this was a good idea on Onkyo's part.
This pretty much makes the new RZ30 coming out irrelevant.
About the only thing it's a step up from is Pios 503/505,Integra 3.4 and thats only because at this point they don't get access to DLBC.
Even then as mentioned, most don't believe DLBC is required/needed anyways!

It was 30% off that in January BTW.
Sorry to break it to you but you already paid more than $0 for DLBC when you bought the 3800, the option cost was rolled into that price, nothing is free($0) 🤷🏻 ♂️
The irony is what you think DLBC worth($0) is about what DLBM is vs DL! 🤷🏻 ♂️
Unless there is something you know that Dirac doesn't about their product?
