After owning this Tapo for two weeks, I agree it has better video quality and also AI detection than Eufy.

I installed one outside my garage (top corner/Northern Illinois) on Jan 30 . The quality of the video is better than my Eufy pro2 battery/hardwired .. only issue I have is a Wi-Fi sensitivity. The Eufy connect a lot faster and no buffering issue . Both are connected to a Tp-link mesh router 9plus. Thinking about installing a moca the strengthen the Wi-Fi in the room above the garage maybe that will help.

I love these - they have awesome builtin AI no sub required and native rtsp support if you want to connect to your nvr for better storage options.

Really liking these Tapo cams. I've been using Eufy cams for the past few years. But the Eufy app just sucks and doesn't integrate well or doesn't integrate at all with third-party stuff like home automation systems from other vendors. Even the Eufy homekit integration is flaky. I was able to easily add the two Tapo cams I have to Smartthings , as well as my Frigate NVR. Its at a point now where I never even have to open the Tapo mobile app anymore other than when I need to setup a new cam. I can just view the stream directly in Smartthings app on my phone or frigate dashboard on my PC. In addition to setup automation like turn on lights on motion. I'm going to start getting rid of the Eufy cams slowly as I see more deals like these for Tapo.

Another thing I've noticed is the the Tapo cams are lot more stable with wifi connections than the Eufy cams. Even when the signal is relatively strong, the Eufy tends to drop connection occasionally, while Tapo has been solid. I can usually tell by captured footage in Frigate where I'll have gaps in recorded videos from Eufy, but not from the Tapo cams.

With so many thieves using WiFi jammer, does anybody know if this camera still records locally (on the SD card) when it can't connect to wifi? Any recommendations for wired Ethernet (poe or not) camera?

It will keep recording, but you will not receive any notifications, or if it's connected to homebase it will not do that either.POE is the only way around it.

Had this camera for over two months but have removed it and not using it anymore. Like other poster mentioned, it constantly keeps losing the WiFi connection and would not connect to the Tapo app. But it does record continuously but cannot view the live or recorded clips on the app. I came to know it is recording is after i reset and add the camera back to the app. Only way to see the recording is to physically reset the camera and add it back. it's such a pain and not reliable. I even connected on a dedicated 2.4ghz wifi connection still no go. Hope they come out with a fix for this. I have another model of Tapo KC420 which does the same thing.

In paper C125 looks like a lot better than this C120; but it is only available in Best Buy that too currently listed at $60
I would definitely give a try when it comes down in price. For $60, I will go with POE cameras.
C125 is indoor only.

No. I just left the house 10 minutes ago and I got instant notification.

I've replaced all of my WYZE Cam V3s and doorbell V2 with Tapo products. Tapo meets or surpasses WYZE products in every aspect.

Comparing the video quality between this and the Wyze OG or v4 the Wyze wins out (there's a guy on youtube that does good side by side comparisons of all these cams). However the free AI features in this (you have to pay with Wyze) may win out for some people. Depends what the priority is.

I tried the Wyze v3 and found the video quality to be really bad. Haven't tried the doorbells, but the OG and v4 (and even the Pan v3) I've found to be really good video quality (at least as good as you can expect from a cheap cloud cam). Far better image than the Tapo especially at night. But you have to pay for the AI features with Wyze so that's a downside.

The Tapo cloud is free? Or do you have to pay a fee in order to view what is saved on cloud? And how many days of storage on cloud?

Cloud is not free. You can view the event recordings from the microsd and no 5 minutes cooldown.

I have a bunch of different Eufy cameras, and only one of them streams video to the app quickly. The only good one is the dual cam 4k pan/tilt model. The Tapo is just reliable. Better than average night vision without the assistance of IR, and with IR it's great. It does rtsp too, although so does Eufy, and older wyze cams if the alternate firmware is installed.
