Careful, it's still only 9 channel processing, it can't do more than 7.2.2/5.2.4, regardless of available pre-outs.

There's a new and free player in the calibration world.

It's a remarkable improvement over straight Audyssey. You do need to buy the $20 MultEQ app to use it but man is it worth the effort.

I have places an order for Denon AVR-X3800H $1300 before taxes and have not taken the delivery yet, is it suggested to switch?

Your 3800 is a "no apologies" design whereas the DRX3.4 has a "limp mode" when it endures low impedance loads. If you don't have difficult to drive speakers and/or plan to connect external amps, then the Integra is a cheaper alternative. Also, if you ever plan to run Dirac, you currently can't make use of DLBM/DLBC so bass issues can come up on volume changes because the Dirac filter is missing the crossover information.

Which makes the X3800 hundreds of dollars more than the unit in this thread equipped comparably.
Several hundred dollars more in purchase price plus the Dirac license plus the needed calibration mic

Possibly getting close to an RZ70 type of spend at about $2K ...and that unit is far more capable

To my ears...having owned multiple Audyssey equipped units and multiple Dirac units in my home...you will want to buy the Dirac license that has to be purchased for the Denon
Agree, Dirac makes a massive difference

The 3800 has many more features and a very good RC built in and option for BOTH Dirac RC's(DL & DLBC) if you think you may need it.

This is only capable Dirac Live which is strictly for your loudspeakers.

Per Dirac's user manual Dirac Live relies on the AVR's sub/bass management for sub/bass control.
BTW only difference between DL & DLBM, DLBM just lets you move your crossovers within Dirac(per Dirac's user manual).
You can do the same manually, very minute difference.

The 3800 also has a new Directional sub setting that mimics DLBC, works very well.
You also have access to a script called Audyssey One Evo that would cost you $20 that can mimic Dirac Live.

Very likely you may not need Dirac especially for the price but nice to know you can if you choose to.

Here is a comparison of the two.
