Worked for about a year and was good enough. The AA wireless device (different device than this) has a slew of features and an app. The feature I ended up needing was to scale the android auto interface differently than OEM. It also switches between Apple and Android for those of you who also live in a house divided. Still a good deal for this one if you want a basic device.

Some newer cars don't have wireless android auto only wired AA by plugging in. This is nice to fix that and keeping your phone in your pocket

I bought one shortly after the release and returned it because it was not possible to easily switch between 2 android phones. Is it still the case?

Very old device which it was good while it worked, connection and sync issues plagued it or just stopped working altogether.

Mine worked well till 18 months or so, I emailed moto and after a few requests they shipped new one. I don't like the inability to switch between devices but on balance like not having wires

What's the appeal of this device besides being able to connect wirelessly? Immediate drawbacks that come to mind are that it adds another interface layer between the car and the phone, plus I don't get to charge the phone anymore while driving either.

I have had mine for about 2 years. Initially it used to hiccup every once in a while but with upgrades to the phone it has been very solid and working great. I haven't had any issues for probably the past year or so.

The appeal is being able to connect wirelessly that is all the device offers. It is nice to walk into your car and everything picks up while your phone is in your pocket. It is a convenience item.

Bummer, guess you need a new enough car to have a screen Smilie
There are head units that will give you that option while keeping your older car. I installed one in my wife's 08 Pontiac solstice and it had wireless Android Auto and wireless car play that worked great for about $160 if I remember correctly.
