Worked for about a year and was good enough. The AA wireless device (different device than this) has a slew of features and an app. The feature I ended up needing was to scale the android auto interface differently than OEM. It also switches between Apple and Android for those of you who also live in a house divided. Still a good deal for this one if you want a basic device.
Some newer cars don't have wireless android auto only wired AA by plugging in. This is nice to fix that and keeping your phone in your pocket
Then what are you bummed about?

I have a 2015 suv, has a 7 inch screen. I do not have Android Auto. Does this Device act as an adapter transforming my car screen to an android auto compatible one?
Your head unit needs to have AA already. This only provides a wireless link to it instead of a wired one.

Works pretty good but good luck getting Google voice assistant to work. Usually have to push the button on my steering wheel 5-10 times before it will actually listen to me.

A great use case could be at parking lots where I have to disconnect my phone to scan the barcode at entrance/exit. Ordering one just for this reason alone 😁

Love this device when it was working but I believe the environment I live in deep fried it to the point where it doesn't work anymore. Can't really blame it for not being able to handle Texas heat.

Works half of the time, then stops to work at all.

Does your car already have voice control? Try going into Android auto settings and turning on the hey Google prompt. I just speak the words in the car and it starts up.

I got one of these a year or two ago. Two things to be aware of:

Most cars leave power supplied to the USB data port after shutting the car off. Some for 15 mins, some for an hour, some always on. This device will not disconnect from your phone until you get really far away or the power finally cuts off, it doesn't have the intelligence in it to disable the wireless when the data connection goes away (from what I understand, the AA Wireless one does).

Phone ran very warm in my pocket and ate battery pretty fast.

I ended up returning it and deciding it really isn't that hard to plug the data cable in when I want to use it.

Rogue 2023 has a Type C Port for infotainment. Will I have to use type c to usb converter for using it? Have another usb port but not sure if that servers has infotainment port

I bought one shortly after the release and returned it because it was not possible to easily switch between 2 android phones. Is it still the case?
I can switch easily pressing the button

I had two, the first one broke after 2 years and 2 months and the other one is still going strong

I got an AAwireless to replace the one that broke down and I think they are pretty comparable (connection speed, reliability) but I like that I can switch phones from the AAwireless app on the android auto interface

Or to charge your phone with a faster charger. My android auto ends up depleting the battery so I have unplug it for a bit and use my fast charger and Bluetooth audio over to the car.

Say what you will about AliExpress, but I bought a well reviewed ali choice android auto device for $15 and it has worked perfectly fine for 6 months so far.

What's the appeal of this device besides being able to connect wirelessly? Immediate drawbacks that come to mind are that it adds another interface layer between the car and the phone, plus I don't get to charge the phone anymore while driving either.
I'm with you. I've always been on the fence with the device because I want to charge my phone while in the car. If i use this device, I'm losing battery life. Now I've tried buying wireless charging mats and this device, but I can't find a wireless charger that fits my car and my galaxy thicc boi fold device.
