Worked for about a year and was good enough. The AA wireless device (different device than this) has a slew of features and an app. The feature I ended up needing was to scale the android auto interface differently than OEM. It also switches between Apple and Android for those of you who also live in a house divided. Still a good deal for this one if you want a basic device.

Some newer cars don't have wireless android auto only wired AA by plugging in. This is nice to fix that and keeping your phone in your pocket

I bought a $5 device from T*** and that has been working perfectly.

What extra features does this have?

I bought one of these shortly after they were released (several years ago) and haven't had any issues with it. Very reliable and connects to my phone quickly, I use it in a 2018 Nissan Maxima.

carlinkit 5.0 is way better than this. MA1 is very less reliable and does not hold up well in heat.
This one?

It does as a beta function you need to turn on beta on the app then restart the device. Not standard /supported but works just fine as IOS device for wife and me Android.
Any idea if the wireless Carplay mode supports two screens? Every other wireless Carplay adapter I've tried only shows me maps in the center inforainment screen and the driver display is blank; whereas the car's (Polestar 2) built-in wired Carplay shows directions on the driver display too.

No, carlinkit 5.0 is smaller than MA1, I have both. Maybe the old version is larger.

Picked one up yesterday. I had USB wired AA. Got up and running in 5 minutes, works great so far.

Just a heads up, if you have target circle you may have a '$5 off any $40' offer.
Adding the extended warranty (or whatever filler you prefer) with that offer applied makes it a lil cheaper

What's the appeal of this device besides being able to connect wirelessly? Immediate drawbacks that come to mind are that it adds another interface layer between the car and the phone, plus I don't get to charge the phone anymore while driving either.
When I plug into my car for AA it doesn't charge fast enough to keep up with the extra work it's doing. With this I can plug in to a fast charger and still use AA.

IIRC this was one of the first of these adapters on the market but you can now find a zillion no-name wireless AA adapters for this price on Amazon and even less on AliExpress, anyone know how this one compares to those?
Tried one of those no-name devices and it didn't work with my S21 and CX-5. I trust that when I get this that it will work.

I've had this since release and never had any problems. I've always recommended it since how could it be better than zero problems? I replaced it with an AAWireless, and it's a case of not knowing what you are missing out on. The AAWireless boots up MUCH faster than the M1. It's such a big quality of life improvement, for that reason alone I can't recommend the M1 any longer.

Just picked up two of these from Target a few weeks ago for $45. Looks like I need to buy 2 more and return for the difference. Works great so far. It might be an AA thing, or just my truck, but I do not like I have to close AA to change radio stations and they start it again after.

I have a 2015 suv, has a 7 inch screen. I do not have Android Auto. Does this Device act as an adapter transforming my car screen to an android auto compatible one?
