Looks expired on Amazon.
Newegg now has it for this deal price.

But in either case, there's quite a few reviews claiming premature failures. Probably a no-go for me.

Yep. Anecdotally, I'm in this thread because one of my 3 WD red just died (instead of graceful smart death, threw a bunch of bad sector errors and hung my nas). Need a replacement

My seagate exos pulls from external 14TB drives (3-years ago) are still going. So, I've had better luck with Seagates.

Won't open them until Black Friday

These are sold out for that price everywhere I looked. Best Buy: unavailable. Newegg: sold out. Amazon: deal expired. You can still get it for $199 on Newegg though if you really want it, but they no longer have it at this price.

all brands die eventually. no matter what anyone says, the big brands are all basically the same. no offense to those with the "i'm never gonna…" stories, but these individual stories mean zero, in the big picture. there are wd haters & lovers and seagate is no different. the only lesson is have at least 3 backups of everything you don't want to lose, on 3 different formats.

Fired mine up today after a couple of weeks and have 8TB of files completely missing. Drive isn't corrupted. I don't understand what happened. Such a bummer.
