According to Notebookcheck, the 4050 averages approximately 50% higher frames per second in games, which is sometimes the difference between playable and not for recent titles. I encourage you to take a look at their comparison tool here to see for yourself whether the cost difference is worth it based on the games you play.

For under $500 and having an R5 7535HS? This is a great deal.
If you don't run the newest games in the highest settings then the 6550 can more than handle gaming tasks. But again, the price makes this a buy

Its not that this is a "bad" price, but its more like...why? It's not going to game all that well except low/very low settings (64-bit memory bus). Build quality/screen arent impressive. Low starting ram

I would pull the trigger IF it was not an HP.
Their hinges are infamous for failing early.

I actually bought this about 4 hours ago for my dad. They are looking for a new computer and although its probably overkill, it should be good for him for awhile. Being a "doorbuster" I figured they wouldn't last long.

Yeah I mean for this price your options are usually machines with integrated graphics exclusively. Having a decent CPU and a GPU capable of gaming at 1080p low in most (but not all) games is definitely better than what your typical integrated graphics is capable of.

Can anyone forsee a problem with adding CORSAIR - VENGEANCE 16GB (1x16GB) DDR5 4800MHz C40 SODIMM Laptop Memory for $45 from Best Buy in the second slot? Are there any better deals for Black Friday? Im looking a great deal on a laptop with 16GB or more RAM for video editing, Audio production, and Local AI processing. I do not game.

Thinking about adding Crucial - P3 Plus 2TB Internal SSD PCIe Gen 4 x4 NVMe for $112 along with 16GB Ram. $430 + $112 + $45 = $587 for this Machine with 24GB Ram and a 2TB SSD. Anyone know of a better deal or a reason to wait until Black Friday?

They should fit and work. Just not sure if there is one or two SSD slots on the board - HP likes to leave a second slot but not solder an actual connector to the board

Some may disagree but if you aren't pushing frame rates for gaming, then you probably aren't going to need a dedicated graphics card. The downside of graphics card when not needed is it often will reduce your battery time significantly. Disregard what the manufacturer says for battery life, in the real world the mobile graphics card does eat up battery life. I think you would be better served with a better CPU (maybe Snapdragon, or one of the newer intel Ulta CPU's) and then of course the additional RAM. Depending upon what video editing you are doing, it is likely that CPU and RAM will be much more important and a mobile GPU, especially a lower tier card, isn't actually going to benefit you.
