This is the "go-to" in our house for white people taco night. Double batch of meat and seasoning along with a 12 oz of Modelo for extra flavor. After cooking the beef and mixing the seasoning in, put in a crockpot to keep warm and let the seasoning open up for a few hours.

I bought this last time it was on sale, and the it away after using it once. Corn meal is the first ingredient.

I use kinders taco blend which is way better and doesn't ruin the tacos. Why spend so much on the meat and other ingredients and cheap out on the flavor

edit: forgot to mention i buy it at costco and keep an eye on when it goes an sale

It's just a "thickener" - we use the Costco version and add in some corn starch blended in water to add as a thickener.

This brand or Old El Paso used to be my go to for taco seasoning but now that I know Cholula has a seasoning out and having tried it, Cholula is my go to. A lot more flavor than other brands

This. People go nuts about these having corn meal, flour, etc but it's exactly as you describe, to thicken and hold the meat together so it isn't crumbling when eating the taco. I prefer this version over many I've tried. Sometime I'll make my own if it runs out but getting this for around $5 is a solid price.

Wondering what the shelf life is? We make Tacos about every 5 weeks so this would last 2+ years plus at 1 oz. per pound of ground beef / turkey. I might bite and vacuum seal half of it for year two.

Think people aren't complaining about the cornmeal so much as complaining about it being the very first ingredient, which means there's more of it than any other ingredient per weight, which is nuts imo. They didn't need to add that much cornmeal. Cheap filler.

The Mccormick regular taco seasoning is much better than the premium.

They started carrying this in my local Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/better...5340366347

Main ingredient is chili powder, it's been the most flavorful "cheap" taco seasoning I've had so far.
