I want this but can't justify the cost to upgrade.

I think this is a pretty good price for a name brand 43" 4k

Can you hookup an appletv 4k to this and just use it as a TV if you have some speakers?

Yes you can, but it's a smart monitor so it works like a smart TV, has a remote, and has tons of apps you can download. Unless you prefer the Apple TV, you don't need to connect anything to it. The built in speakers aren't terrible, but they aren't great either so I would suggest adding speakers or a soundbar, but they also aren't necessary. The only thing it cant do that a TV can is that it's missing a tuner so you can not connect an antenna for OTA broadcast signals. The Mini-LED is nice too, the blacks are much better than a regular LED, colors looks pretty good, and you can tweak it to get the image somewhere between an LED and an OLED.

As you could with any monitor, yes.

I got the Walmart Philips 43" TV 144hz panel. I'm using for my Xbox as a monitor it does 4k 120 on Xbox. Looks great for the price of $260.
This for sure will be better because it's built as a monitor so has better colors and HDR.
Not bad for the price.

I have this. It does have speakers in case anyone is wondering. It's actually hard to find a good 43-in TV so this is a good price. Basically has the full Samsung Smart TV interface.

So ... in the community's opinion, would this do well for a PC gaming monitor? I was considering a TCL 43" 4K TV but his is only a bit over $100 more.

Opinons? Thanks ...

Got this last time and it's good. I used this guys settings for HDR and it's much better than out of the box (same guy also has a video for SDR settings): https://youtu.be/ujcRddFscOY?si=8KplR-gwk6lsXUP3

Yes. When I first got it the work laptop I had didn't support 4k60, so I ran it as two separate displays using the side by side feature to get one 4k60 display

For gamers, just a note that it has XBOX Game Pass pre-loaded on it, so if you have a Game Pass membership, you can stream games on it with no need for an XBOX. I've had this as my daily work driver (8+ hrs a day) for over a year and am 100% satisfied with it. I used that same youtube guy someone else mentioned in another comment to calibrate mine also.

I would recommend against using any "smarttv" software. It is all bloated and is a privacy nightmare. Plus most of them are horrendously under-powered for 4k viewing. Disable it all. Don't connect it to the internet and use whatever source you like. I prefer tivo stream4ks that have been wiped down to just the apps you want. You can usually get them for $25 and then all of your TVs have the same software.
