If it wasn't a 3rd party sold and shipped I'd be in.

There's over 2000 4.5 out of 5 reviews for them so I bought it last week after I missed the Black Friday sale. Fast shipping and already up and running in my theater room.

If you don't want to spend that much look at the newest one from Panasonic the UB450. I got this and it plays files from USB that the 820 doesn't. The UB450 has plenty of features going for it.

I would point out the 450 excludes their Optimizer and HCX Processor.
Personally I would give up DV before giving up those two.
In that case you would go with the 420.

For this price you can buy a ps5 or Xbox x to play 4k…
Someone makes this comment on literally every 820 thread. Many have said it better than me, so…

edit: I've never had a comment get featured before. I have so many people I'd like to thank! First, my mother, for always believing in me. Secondly, my wife, for not checking the credit card statements that closely…

Not a good comparison(in more ways than one).
They don't offer DV support for disc, this does.
You're better off comparing it to the 420.
It's around $200 now.

What does a new ps5 or Xbox x run?

Does the UB450 play SACD and the ARM CDs? I wanted the 820 solely for these. Thanks.

This is a great deal. I purchased one last year and it's unbelievable how great it looks with an LG OLED. Most people have no idea how poor of quality streaming is (including me before I bought this).

Neither supports those.
You could look at Sony players for that.

This is exactly why I went for this. I had been getting too relaxed with streaming 4k movies on Apple TV and after hooking it up and playing 4k disks with Atmos or DTS X it really is so much better on my system.

Sadly, many people don't care.
