So I was recently scheduled for an install on 01/09 and happened to look at my account and they cancelled my install date and didn't even ask me to reschedule. So now my best case is 01/15. They stated because they had to transfer from another store. I'm decently annoyed and considering cancelling. Has anyone else experienced this?
That's a bummer but if you want the TV it's worth the wait. This is a solid deal.

I watched planet earth III UHD and it looks amazing. Previous programs that looked amazing on 65" OLED don't look as good like chimp empire, with 100" you can see difference between 4k streaming and UHD

Awesome. i appreciate it. I am an OLED lover so that is good to know. I will practice patience. Did you have a recessed wall mount or a media box installed? I'm trying to debate which mount is best.
Thanks.

Well, it's good to know that 4k streaming looks better. But, what about content in 720p or 1080p as most of the movies and home videos are still in this format and does it look pixelated? I am curious how 720p videos look on a 100" display?

Good deal on an open box 10/10 from B&H:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...y_xxl.html

I can't imagine a 10/10 new condition rating from B&H has ever been used or tried to. . .

Mount-it The Beast (Mi-394) or Monoprice's exact same twin, model # 44486:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...7WLS&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7V18...asin_title

The 3 above are all rated 260# or more. The latter 2 have 24" of horizontal slide on the wall bracket. This is the one I chose so I can put the base right against an ill placed cord hider and still get the TV centered to same place a normal mount would as if the ill placed cord hider didn't exist. or if your setup plans and studs don't quite line up (hehe). Old school cord hiders are usually too big to fit in the space showing a simple wall outlet in pics.

Those are all also $200 (BH open box @ $124)

Then there's some that are not quite as beefy. say 175-200# range, but half the cost:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...X0DER&th=1 just dropped to $92

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...X0DER&th=1 $105

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...ZV9G&psc=1 $109

These are all articulating. There are many low profile mounts out that have 3 stud fastening and really beefy as well for not that much if you look awhile.

This Hisense 100u8k is vesa 600x400. If you went with the big TCL qm8 instead it's a 600x600 and not all the above cater to that one.

A start anyways. . .

I suggest thinking about whether your posts improve the discussion about the deal or product.

Just because you have an opinion on something doesnt mean you need to share it Wink

I am doing traveling work so I didnt want to mount it. I threw it on insignia 75" stand that had my 85"; according to someone it is going to collapse LMAO.

The problem with using the stand is the depth of your table should be near 19.7" (the depth of the feet). This is really rare, most are 15". Mine is 18.5" so the excess is hanging off the back of the stand, still stable.

I havent watched any 720p or 1080p content. I honestly dont really watch that kind of content, most is either modern or upscaled via studio.

I would guess it would look bad TBH. 100" should be even 8K to maintain PPI

Do you mind quickly putting on some 720/1080 content, even just YouTube or YouTubeTV, and letting us know how it looks. Like does it look clearly visibly bad?

I had my TV delivered and mounted today. A 3rd party company (MasTec) mounted it. Took about 45 minutes. They said they could not take the trash since they were using a rental truck.

What's your take on it? I never got to see any of the U8K's, only a smaller U8N basically on floor level. I did see the bigger QM8 and was wondering how it compared. and I don't need ALL that extra brightness but wonder if there is a big side angle difference in real world. But I'm thinking keep some extra change in my pocket. . .

I'm coming from an older 65" OLED and I do notice slightly worse picture quality. However, I think it has more to do with the lower PPI than the quality of the tv. I really like the TV and have absolutely no regrets at this price.
