I work from home and owned this for a year. I thought it was awesome at first. Very stylish and comfortable. But then the noise started. There was a loud creaking noise that would happen every time I adjusted my sitting position. I called customer support who were great about sending me some replacement parts but it didn't fix anything. Eventually I ended up giving it away.

I grabbed it last time. I'm 6'2 and the neck rest lands on my upper back/traps. It's only rotational adjustable not height adjustable. I have to slouch to use the neck rest. Not a very comfortable chair.

IDK why so many negative comments, I have two of these chairs. They have been great. I got it for 135 one year then this Christmas it was on sale got it for 79.99. the chair is better then any of those gaming chairs. If you need a new chair this is the one to get. I got both in red. If someone has squeaking issues two things. Either overweight or didn't tighten the screw with Allen key correctly. My two older teenagers love it.

either pay rent this month, or buy a chair...
the choice is yours

(yes it's a joke. yes i make a enough to buy one. no i never would, not something i prioritize... just funny for anybody at home to do. yes i WFH 4ish days a week.)
I guess. I figured if it only lasts exactly the 10 years of the warranty, and I work from home 24 hours a week, then I paid roughly 10 cents an hour to own the chair, not including the other time I spend sitting on it. I was having issues with back pain that basically went away after getting my Aeron. Not saying there aren't other chairs out there that could have done the same for me, but in the grand scheme, it's not that expensive when you consider how many hours of your life you spend sitting in it.

Same thing here. Removed the headrest and now it's nice!

Can anyone speak to how long this would take to assemble, or if they come assembled, or if Staples will assemble for you?

I hate this chair.

Over the past 14 years I had bought three separate $300 chairs from Staples. This was the last one I bought.

For the two years I used it it gave me absolutely agonizing back pain. I'd sit in it for a couple hours a day at night playing games and get up feeling like a busted accordion. When I transitioned to working from home forty hours a week it became unbearable. I ended up bringing home my Herman Miller Mira 2 from work and literally overnight my back pains when away completely.

This chairs fabric is made from that itchy material out of Better Off Ted. Wearing shorts on this chair was like sitting in a fire ant nest. The arm foam has worn through and a piston exploded at one point and I had to replace it for $20.

At least mine was a cool red color.

I hate this chair.

I spent $900 on chairs that lasted me a total of seven years. My Herman Miller from work cost $1200, and I've been sitting in it at least 40 hours a week (much longer now the past four years) and it still works and feels like new. The arms slightly scuffed from rolling into my desk but that's about it. Used chairs can go for $600 online.

This Hykon might be the most expensive chair I've ever owned. The Mira 2 is a bargain.

I've also had this same exact issue with this chair within 2 years of use. I'm fed up with that noise and looking to upgrade for a higher end option.

Great chair, has good support and keeps your back/body from hurting with several hours of computer use a day. I've recommended this chair to three different friends (two gamers and one office worker) that spend lots of hours in front of the computer and all three have been super happy. Important note: if you have wide shoulders/are a little wider, I'd recommended you check the "Dexley" out, it's pretty much the same chair with a wider base for your bottom and wider arm rests, which make a humongous difference if the Hayken is too small for you. Same manufacturer, different model. My Hayken lasted 4+ years without a single issue, my Dexley broke down on me after a couple years. I recently purchased a Hayken in hopes it would last as long as my first one but couldn't deal with the narrowness of the armrests and smaller base after owning the Dexley and forgot how much better the Dexley felt for me, so if you feel that "narrowness" as well, check the Dexley out, they usually go on sale for 100-120 as well. I must mention that these chairs need better quality control, I've owned two Dexley and two Hayken and none of them were similar to their predecessor, they all had different (and noticeable) pros and cons, so don't hesitate to exchange yours for a new one if something is off/not working properly. They also come with a 5 year warranty, and although I've never had any experience with that myself, I've heard many good things about it.

I bought this in 2020 For $154.99 + tax. Other than the headrest which doesn't stay put, I like this chair. The armrest have started cracking because I put my weight on it when getting up - for reference I'm 6'3, 235lbs. I'm thinking of getting one for a family member.
I called their customer support and they sent me two new arm pads for free. I think like 5 years after I bought it too. Customer service was actually pretty great. If I find the phone number I'll add it.
