Integra is Onkyo premium line. Like Marantz is Denon premium line.

Is it worth upgrading to this from Denon x4400h ?
Depends on features.
Here is a comparison, should help.

Do you want to pay almost $200 more for the two extra channels, if not get this imo.
But the 20 more wats per channel would be worth it? Like to drive a more expensive speaker? with lower ohms.

power output in relation to speaker output is logarithmic. so 20w difference is a small amount on 100w unit.

Several factors to consider in that calculation.
In the practical audible sense, it's a pretty small difference in my experience.

If you do have fairly inefficient speakers, you're better off investing the $200 into external power.
Internal power is usually not a good investment& a weak spot in that scenario in my experience.

Would this be a good receiver for a PS5 Pro?

I'm planning on upgrading my TV (Samsung RU8000 series) to an OLED/something with VRR, and need a new receiver since I don't think my current one (Onkyo TX-NR656) supports VRR.

I like that this has component/composite inputs, just in case I decide to hook up some older consoles to it.
have ps5 pro. so far 3 months in i'd say it's worked pretty well.TV game mode still activiates. ALLM, VRR 120 hz all works well. There are some delays when PS5 is switching resolution or refresh rates but it's not more than a few seconds. 2 or 3 times i've had to restart the integra (unplug it) because it wasnt displaying video. i spent quite a bit of time looking into a new AVR and for the price i think it's still a solid buy

I own this unit, buying it over a Denon x3800h, and I have no regrets. I love it.

I do use it a little differently than most. This model has Onkyo and Pioneer equivalents, but this Integra is the only one with pre-outs for 7 speakers (most less expensive receivers only have front L and R preamp outputs).

I wanted an inexpensive processor to drive my 115# older Emotiva beast of an amplifier, and this works great and includes DIRAC without the need to buy the license separately. Adding this one component made such a significant improvement to my home theater system, far exceeding any hopes I had for it.

The only downside for me is that the output voltage must be a little low for my amp, since I can turn the volume all the way up and I know there's still a little more to be had. Granted, that's already ridiculously loud (and clean) but so much louder than my wife ever wants to be around.

I wanted to offer my honest thoughts in this review. I don't see how you can go wrong buying this Integra, since it offers so much for so little in cost - and it provides a solid upgrade path should you wish to add an external amplifier down the road.

going from 100 watts to 200 watts would net you 3db louder. A db is the lowest measurement a human ear can differentiate under ideal conditions. Normally it takes 6 db(4x the power) for a human to think something is 2x louder.

Going from 100 watts to 120 watts is almost imperceivable.
Hell there is only a 30db swing from 0.1watts to 100 watts.

Why do AVRs have so many channels? How many people run more than 5.1. 3.1 is all I want to look at.

Well I saw a review of Denon AVR-X1700H and is 80 wats he says the sound gets distorted when going pass 80 percent. So I was wondering that playing on high levels does the Onkyo 120 watts can get less distorted or maybe the model I mentioned it really sucks because other factors not only becaise is 80 watts.

Currently using the Denon AVR-X1700H and doubt I've had it much beyond the 60s. I'd lose my hearing. I haven't perceived any distortion at sub-discomfort levels.

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X to name a couple reasons.
