Correction, it is 120 W/Ch (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2-ch driven, FTC), not 20W

This is a great receiver. Dirac is so much better than the standard Onkyo room correction. I love mine.

Upgraded to this mostly because I got a second sub. Disappointed to find out after that they are not two separate sub controllers, just two outputs for the same signal. That's on me for not researching better, but just fyi.

You'll need to add the Dirac DLBC license for the RZ50.

Edit: After some digging... it appears that even with the DLBC license it is still a single sub channel, and not discrete.

Just a heads up the component input only supports Max 480i instead of 1080 like years past. This means if you want to use old consoles you will be limited to 480i. Xbox original supported 1080i, ps2 supported 480p, Wii supported 480p, xbox 360 component supported 1080i. They might as well just remove the whole input from the back if they are going to make it worthless. Denon has same problem

Looks like there's really not much of a difference. Main thing seems to be the extra power on the Onkyo, but with efficient speakers in a small/medium room, I don't think it'll make much of a difference. Seems like saving the $200 with Integra is the better deal, or am I missing something?

Agreed, definitely disappointing. Personally, I would put that money towards a MiniDSP and learn REW and MSO for that price.

It mainly depends on features you need/want.
The 3800 has a few more features but this has 15 more watts per channel.

The main draw/advantage with this was Dirac Live inclusion.
With the advent of A1EVO, many are finding out that's no longer the case.

from what I understand, you'll need to fork out an EXTRA $349 for the Denon if you want to use Dirac live; the Onkyo includes it.

I have been eyeing this receiver as I currently have the Pioneer LX-VSX-305, was going to switch to the 505 but it seems pioneer got greedy and wants to put some features behind a paywall... so I've been looking at this Onkyo. I might bite.....


*NOTE* check your space before you buy.... this thing is quite chonky. Dimensions (W x H x D) 17.12 x 7.93 x 15.66" (435 x 201.5 x 398mm)

About an inch higher than my Pioneer, about an inch wider, about 3/4" deeper

If you don't need the extra channels.
There is also Dirac subwoofer RC(Bass Control) but most people in here don't find any value with it anyways.
If neither of those two aren't important, you won't really hear a difference if at all imo.
