The second one I have on another fence post, but during 3/4 of the year, between the angle of the sun and a nearby tree's branches growing out, it gets light but tends to not get direct sunlight. During these months, it triggers a 30 second motion activated clip maybe once per day, and loses about 1% battery per day, so I have to manually charge it about once every 2 months.
by contrast, I also put up a Blink outdoor camera with the extended battery pack right next to the Eufy one I have in direct sunlight. Despite the extended battery pack that was supposed to last an advertised 4 years, I just had to replace one of the 4 batteries last week. I tested all the batteries in it, 3 of the batteries were nearly full while 1 was completely dead, causing the blink camera to not work anymore until replacing that 1 battery. so there's definitely a problem with the Blink camera in regards to it's battery pack, although it did last about 9 months anyway off just that one battery, triggering just slightly less often than the Eufy camera.

Anyone know how to capture more of the beginning and end of the recordings? Thank you!
I have one of these, but not with the solar on top (cord runs to a solar panel couple inches away), it is fantastic. I just ordered 2 of these to replace some old Homebase 2 1080 cams that get direct sun.
This!
I've had mine for over a year and never had to charge it; while triggering several times a day. I'm in SC

Had a set for 2 years now. In Ohio I need to charge them about once a year, I made sure to put them into areas that get full sun.
In the Summer they stay at 100%,
In the Fall they start to drop a percent or 2 a day.
About once or twice in the winter I need to take them down, manually charge them up to 100% mount them back up.
Around March they start filling up again and don't need to be touched until Fall.
When I punch my name into fastpeoplesearch and it shows my addresses from the last 30 years. Phoning home isn't a huge concern.

There lastest gen cameras all suck when it comes to recognition. Doesn't matter how much adjust the sensativity . Camera can sense strong wind better than actual human being
